Auction ended at 6:15 pm , another bid came in 6:15.01 then another 6:15:33... I haven't seen this before. What's happened?

I bid on a pocket knife at 8:14:50 that ended at 8:15 pm, 2 bids were taken later than 8:15, one at 8:15:09 and the last, and winning bid at 8:15:33. Shouldn't the bidding have been stopped at 8:15? I've not noticed this before.

Auction end time is 8:21 pm, I place bid at 8:20 pm, and am shown to be highest bidder, at 8:21 it changes to show 2 hrs. left in auction while still showing auction end time is 8:21 pm. Also asks if I want to raise my bid, but still showing bidding ...
