I only sell a few items a year and have never dealt with the tax question before. How can I get by that question?

Well I'm going down the form filling out each item. Just before the shipping info I see "sales tax" It asks me the state and the %. I finish and post without getting an error telling me the rate is too high or too low. I'm stuck
