There is a similar incense burner on E-Bay identified as Chinese. I
spoke with an Asian collector of Asian (Chinese, Korean) artifacts. He
said it's definitely not Chinese, not even Asian. He said it looks more
European but to me it's not European at...

it suggests that this is an Italian table cigarette box made by a local
silversmith, who may be registered or not from the 1920s.
