Whitelist Application for Platform Notifications

Hi all,

After a day or two playig around with Set and Get Notification Preferences, and some hair pulling out, I read that an application needs to be whitelisted to get platform notifications while using oauth.

Does anyone have any experience with how you'd go about asking the teams to whitelist your application?

I've just discovered the notifications bit and very excited to minimise calls and stop bothering eBay every minute to ask if there's been a new order, and now I cant get the darn thing to work, and this is all i can see that could be wrong.

Test notifications I send work okay, and the response to GetNotificationsUseage, just talks about a token issue, which there isn't and eBay shouldn't need one to send a Post request!

I'm stumped and somewhat dispirited, would really appreciate it if anyone who has been there or knows could nod me in the right direction.

Kind regards

Hi @openboxsteals,

You can submit an "Application Growth Check" request for the whitelisting your application. The application growth check is a free service that the eBay Developers Program provides to its members.

Re: Whitelist Application for Platform Notifications

Hi developer_support@ebay

Thanks for this, I got it working by just using authnauth, I think I was really complaining about having to learn a new thing, but I learnt it and I now I know that, so it worked out in the end, thanks.

I'm now switching away from polling and into reactive calls after notifications, so it's all going very well for everyone I think, thanks for providing the service.

Incidentally, do I need to buy support hour/s to submit a growth check application? To be honest, I think as I learn more I'm finding new ways to minimise calls, so I may never need one, but just curious. I couldn't see a way to submit an application without buying the hours, and you mentioned it's free.

Kind regards

Hi @openboxsteals,

The application growth check is a free service that the eBay Developers Program provides to its members and you do not require the support hours for submitting an Application Growth Check.

You can apply for an Application Growth Check here: https://developer.ebay.com/my/support/tickets?tab=app-check
