Coming up tomorrow, we'll kick-off at 12:30 with an eBay for Business broadcast on the topic of the newly-launched Selling on eBay podcast. Be sure to check out & subscribe to the weekly podcast via your favorite podcast provider.
Then, from 1-2pm we'll have a general topics Community chat. We do not have a set topic, so any questions you may have about eBay or Community are fair game.

Hi @coffeebean832 - good questions! I don't have immediate detailed answers on this, but will loop with the Seller Hub team and get you an update when I hear back. Thanks!

@mam98031 wrote:From the Fall Seller Update:
Answer:
It's an unfortunate reality of ecommerce that items are sometimes stolen or lost on their way to the buyer. Ultimately, it's the seller's responsibility to ensure their orders make it into their buyer's hands, and it's important they plan for the occasional lost or stolen item.
We will always do everything we can to help mitigate this risk for our sellers and will even cover the cost of the item in certain situations. The best way to protect yourself is to upload tracking for each order you receive as soon as possible.
What does this actually mean? I understand that Griff covered this a bit in the broadcast just before the chat. But why put this mix. It gets many sellers a bit upset at thinking Ebay is going to hold us responsible for lost or stolen packages when that was not the intention of the statement. But it reads that way.
Hi @mam98031, in response to feedback from the Community, the FAQ in reference has been updated (see screenshot below). We will resolve Item Not Received claims as we have in the past when tracking confirms delivery.
Humm, my old eyes are not that good. Can I trouble you for a link or a much larger pic. LOL
@mam98031, sure! You'll find the FAQ on the Seller Update page.
THANK YOU! I could easily read that one. Well you guys sure shortened that answer. Again, thank you.

I'm just curious. With the information being widely shared that PayPal is not accepted in the Beta version of the Ebay payment process until later next year [which I understand it is complicated]. Can those that have opt'd into the program opt OUT BEFORE they actual testing starts? I understand after it starts they can't, but how about before the testing starts?

Last year's design did not feel seasonal or holiday. The glue strips on both padded and poly mailers do not extend far enough to the ends. There is too large of a loose corner flap that can get caught on other packages or machinery during its shipping journey.Hi @coffeebean832 - we haven't heard of any plans to release holiday shipping supplies this year. How significant are these to you and your holiday business? We'd love to take some examples of your input and get it to the supplies team to encourage them to consider themed packaging again.
As to your feedback on the poly mailers, it's really appreciated! I'll get that to them too. Thanks!
Buyers often comment on my packaging because it's a positive experience for them. If eBay doesn't offer anything seasonal I will purchase those supplies elsewhere - it's not the end of the world.

I am interested in this answer as well.
For clarity, here is the link to this policy:
https://pages.ebay.com/ba/en-us/seller-center/service-and-payments/case-resolution.html
I would like to know which shipping companies provide tracking with proof of delivery that includes the recipient's address?
As far as I'm aware, neither USPS, FedEx nor UPS provide this level of detail in their online tracking, and it can be difficult to get them to release the recipient's address if there is an issue relating to it. They only include the zip code, not the full address.

Hi @coffeebean832,
Great question! We don't play the called in questions. What we do is we call the person back and let them know that we've selected their question and then we begin recording the conversation when we have their consent to do so. It's a lot of fun, and it's informative. Have you listened to the podcast yet?
Not yet but I'm looking forward to checking it out! I listen to podcasts a lot so the new format should be right up my alley.

Hi @mam98031,
All we've sent so far are 'save the dates,' sellers haven't had the ability yet to opt-in. If you have concerns about opting in you do not have to do so.
Thank you.

Alan, thank you. That is exactly what I thought and when I brought that up, others were saying I was incorrect. I appreciate the clarification as that sounds extremely reasonable.

From Ebay’s policies.
- eBay works to identify, warn, and restrict buyers who file unusually high numbers of cases.
- You can track the number of times eBay Money Back Guarantee cases have been removed from your account as a result of these actions in your seller dashboard.
- Protection when shipping within your stated time: If a buyer claims that they did not receive an item, the related eBay Money Back Guarantee case will be found in your favor if you shipped within your stated handling time and provided tracking information (with signature confirmation for transactions of $750 or more) before the case was escalated to eBay.
- To be protected, the tracking information will need to show proof of delivery from a shipping company that clearly displays the delivery status of the item as "delivered," the date of delivery(which reflects that you shipped within your stated handling time), and the recipient's address.
- Any buyer feedback (positive, neutral, and negative) along with detailed seller ratings [DSRs] will be removed promptly from transactions in which an eBay Money Back Guarantee case is resolved in your favor by eBay.
This question has been asked a lot on the dedicated Fall Seller Update threads. It was originally answered by a CSR to not mean what it actually says. That Ebay was not requiring the recipient’s address to be on the online tracking. But when further questioned on this subject, no CSR seem to want to touch it and it was ignored for the balance of the time the threads were opened, no matter how many times it was asked by multiple posters.
Please clarify what the updated version of Seller Protection means to sellers in regards to INR cases. And if the address confirmation is NOT required, why does the update policy say that it is? Or is it going to be updated again?
I'm not trying to harp on this subject. I just want to make sure I understand the policy so that I can do my best to comply.
Hi @mam98031 - With the exception of tracking needing to be uploaded before the estimated delivery date has passed, the way we adjudicate Item Not Received requests has not changed. The same level of tracking detail that you currently offer will be sufficient going forward. There are no plans that we are aware of to alter this, and should that change you will be notified in advance. Thanks!

Hello, all.
I am a co-branding type of person. I see nothing wrong with promoting ebay's brand on these envelopes because I believe it enhances my selling experience. HOWEVER, the envelopes are still in my Basket of Deplorables. The original logo was perfect. Any inkling on if/when we can change these? I am returning to this issue after taking a break because it is important.

Then WHY does it say that on the Seller Protection published policy? It is a requirement that few if any could met, so why is it not removed? Especially since it is NOT Ebay intention to hold us to that portion of the policy! I hope you understand the shock waves that sent through the selling community.

On occasion when printing labels through eBay, I get an INVALID ADDRESS, ZIP CODE, ADDRESS TOO LONG, or INVALID COUNRY CODE, etc. However, when printing through USPS N Ship, address provided by buyer prints label with no issue! Why does eBay allow a buyer to enter an address that will be invalid for a seller!
I’ve had to add Hong Kong to countries I won’t ship to as NO Hong Kong address has ever been valid for eBay labels, but always valid with USPS. I’d rather lose a sale that to go to the extra time and expense of using USPS Click N Ship.
Is anyone at eBay working on this issue of compatibility? This is really frustrating, time consuming, and costly.
