Continued from last time:

I have a couple hundred t-shirts I want to list, and each one has to have at least two listings, one for men and one for women. A few have to have three listings, one for women, one for boys, one for girls.

What's worse, when I try to Sell Similar and just change the gender, I have to re-enter the Condition information and all the Item Specifics from scratch, even tho the only change is to show the women's size instead of the mens (or VV).
There's no reason the Condition would change just because the category changes.
There's no reason Item Specifics like where it was made, what the design/color is, what material it's made of would change.
Condition Description and Item Specifics that are the same should be copied over when the category changes.

Hi @vrykalak, while I understand that filling out the same information in multiple listings takes time, item specifics are category dependent, meaning they cannot be transferred between categories. Item Specifics must be reentered anytime a category is changed in a listing. However, I am happy to pass along your feedback.

If the clothing you are listing is not gender specific then you can put it in the unisex clothing category (for example, clothing, shoes & accessories > unisex clothing, shoes & accs > unisex adult clothing > T-shirts).

I had an idea - if I change my shipping from first class package to the generic 'standard shipping', would that keep the system from calculating delivery in 4 days? The generic standard shipping says 1-5 days.

thanks again,

Sue

Hi @wooden_flower, try it out and let me know what you find. At one point a specified shipping option was required for the guarantee display, but this may have changed. Historical data, your location, the buyer's location, and the shipping service all factor into our estimate.

I have an order in my  awaiting shipping today.  I have until 5/17 to ship based on my handling time (it will go out on 5/16).  The estimated delivery on the item is 5/17 to 5/20.  The buyer selected USPS Parcel Select.  These unrealistic shipping estimates continue to display in my orders screen.

Why doesn't the mobile version of selling on eBay include the Time Left Until Renew for listings? Aka a 30 Day countdown clock so we know when each listing is going to automatically renew? It seems like an easy function to add to the mobile view and yet we still don't have this much-needed piece of info for listings. This seems to be a HUGE necessity especially now that listings are GTC (*barf*) and a LOT of sellers are moving to mobile-only selling. I used to LOVE the mobile version of selling but now I have to use my laptop more and more to manage my listings, thus, I'm selling/listing less and less.

Can we expect this simple feature to be included on our mobile devices soon?

Please, and thank you!

Wouldn't eliminating all of your free shipping on your listings rid yourself of the involuntary guaranteed delivery issues?

They don't show guaranteed delivery until the buyer places an order - then the order is split into some items showing a guaranteed date, others not.

I will go back and find a pair of sales records to send you a fresh example.

Maybe, but then my buyers would not get free shipping when they spend more than $50 😞

There are multiple posts/complaints that GD dates are being displayed for items with economy and media rates selected.  I would not expect changing to standard shipping would affect this.

Hi @havemyfaves

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll share this with our Mobile & Product teams for their consideration.

1. when a parcel gets lost in the mail, the seller has to eat the cost, of the item, and the shipping, and the final value fees...and probably gets a defect. I don't think this is fair. Could we at least get FVFs back? And if there's an INR defect assigned, could it be removed?

Hi @vrykalak, a seller will not get a defect and will receive a Final Value Fee credit when they refund their buyer before eBay is asked to step in. In these situations a seller will be out the shipping cost and item. While this isn't common, it is something sellers should be aware of as a possibility. As such, shipping insurance is a good way to better protect from loss when a package is lost and something worth considering when purchasing a label.

In this particular case, I had another of the same item, and I just sent it out.
So I'm out the cost of both items, two shipping costs, and the FVF is not refunded because I sent another item instead of a refund.

This happens once every couple of years. It's certainly not worth buying insurance on every item I send out.

I think the seller should get FVFs back when the carrier admits the package got lost after it was submitted and recorded. And if the buyer opened an INR, and/or left negative feedback, both should be expunged.

Hi @vrykalak, thank you for taking care of your buyer! If a refund is issued through a return then a credit will be applied. If you choose to arrange a different resolution with your buyer then you can contact customer support to see what options may be available to help, such as a courtesy credit.

----

Yes, I know " Item Specifics must be reentered anytime a category is changed" but my question is WHY? when most or all of the Item Specifics don't change just because the category changes. The Item Specifics are about the ITEM, and have nothing to do with the Category placed on the listing.
And why does the Condition Description get erased, too? That makes no sense.

Yes, I can list these t-shirts in the Unisex category...and no one will ever see them if they search by category. As you pointed out last week, most people search for clothing by Men's or Women's...no one searches for Unisex clothing.
...And BTW people who search only by Men's or Women's clothing never see the many listings that show both a Men's and a Women's size.

Make it $1.00 or something that still looks like a great deal but isn't free.

I didn't have to go back - I just had a new order split.

Sales record 539956 shows fast 'n free, not guaranteed delivery, 5/20. 539955 shows Guaranteed delivery: 5/20.
