RETRO = an item that was made in one era to LOOK like it was made in a PAST era.
The item may or may not be new. RETRO is NOT a style, it's used to describe an item that looks like it's from a past era.
Example in the 1980's clothing made to look like it was from the 1880's was VERY popular.
Today if I list an item made in the 1980's to LOOK LIKE it was made in the 1880's
It is BOTH Vintage & RETRO.
The option to identify items as "Original" or "Reproduction" Vintage helps but I still get unwanted emails from folks who don't understand the difference between an original & a reproduction item, and folks who don't understand what RETRO means.
Posting a pic of the RN # and the formula for using the RN # to date items in the description can help with the items age.
Vintage is very overused and has come to mean different things to different people. Now a days when we use it here on Ebay they give us a LOT of ways to explain just which vintage our item reflects.
GOOD LUCK
