Based on the damaged corners and other issues it in my opinion is worth $2.  I have turned better ones into the bank.

Really? I'd pay $2 all day long for ones like that! I've sold worse ones here for a lot more than $2... just sayin.

ripped corners, numerous folds, ratty bottom edge, stained...

easily found in much better condition...

it's worth $2... but someone who doesn't know better might pay more...

Someone tore those corners.  I have 10 crispy $2 bills (kept as a novelty) and I'm surprised to learn you can sell them for more than $2 on eBay. - Yeah...pay with a $2 bill and they'll looked crossed-eyed at you !

yep... some people considered (still consider??) $2 bills to be bad luck, and tearing the corners off is the supposedly correct way to remove the bad luck...

YES!  You got that correcto mucho!

Heron was driving south across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Handed the

toll taker an Ike Dollar.  The toll taker went Bezerkly and refused to accept

it.

Heron asked the toll taker to call for the supervisor on duty.

Supervisor shows up about 5 minutes later.

In the meantime, traffic is building up behind Heron's auto.

Horns are honking.

Supervisor looks at the Ike Dollar and says, accept it.

So, using a $2 note can cause some consternation amongst the

younger population that may not ever have SEEN a $2 note.

Fun stuff sometimes.

not a clue... pretty much everything that one person says is bad luck somebody else will see as good luck...

Heron is not entirely sure about this, and it has been many decades

since he heard the story.   A horse-race aficionado once told Heron

that the story about the $2 note being a good luck 'piece' was 

connected somehow to the horse race scene.   Heron first heard

this comentario in early 1958.    Perhaps it had something to do

with the $2 'window' at the track.  Quizas?  Perhaps?

There you have it.  A potential buyer.  

I've always liked these notes, but I wouldn't buy one that is ripped.  

They need to bring back some more color in banknotes.  The ones from other countries look so much nicer.

Colorful and fancy designed 'bank notes'!  YES!  That is one reason

elHeron collects bank notes issued by South & Central American

countries between 1880 and 1920, mas o menos.   Many of these

were designed and printed by the American Bank Note Company.

Some South & Central American chartered bank notes are really

beautiful.  

USA Federal Reserve Notes:  Not so pretty but very sound.
