Fraud, blame, and highly unreal expected turnovers

I have recently had yet another crazy experience with a toy buyer/seller, would you believe it!🤓. The buyer claimed the item was damaged of course and wanted a full refund, I asked for a better more detailed  picture of the item in question so that i could verify that it was in fact the item I sold. The reason for this request is due to recent experiences and what ive learned. Even though I could dispute the Item not being mine after verification(if the item wasn't the one I sold), it would save time due to the fact that I take alot of pics for posting and while packing,  detailed enough to see sku numbers and so on. Of course the buyer completely ignored the request. The buyer infact completely bypassed contacting me first with the issue and opened a return case instead. So I completely agreed to the return without receiving the pics as requested, no big deal.....to me. When sending the buyer a return label from the site an error occurred which at first (due to experience from past buyers) made me feel as though someone was trying to get over on me over a 50 dollar toy to try and make a profit from it. After entering the info for the return label and clicking the send button it immediately showed that I had received the returned item and to issue a refund!? After explaining this to the buyer and litteraly begging him to mail the item back he refused, today I was insulted, threatened, and even called autistic which doesn't really bother me having an autistic 5 year old myself, nothing wrong with that. I don't understand why that condition would be used as an insult (not sure if ebay has removed msgs yet or if they will). After some lengthy phone time with customer reps I still of course will be refunding the buyer if he returns the item but the negative feedback has been promised to be removed. Ive delt with this before on both ebay and outside of ebay, people will buy an item the same as an item they own and switch out for the better item and want a full or partial refund while keeping both or returning to you the item of lesser value claiming it the item you sold. Im not saying this was the case, but why not just send it back or provide the pics as requested? There are buyers/sellers that like to take advantage of seller policy to benfit from and amplify their own sales of course, we have to be extremely detailed in our listings in order to fight back. In most cases concerning this platform its been sellers with 100% positive feed back, 100% positive feed back doesn't always mean 100% positive person.

No mater how detailed you are eBays buyer guarantee will force ebay to find for the buyer.

The buyer does not have to send you photos just make the claim.

If it is viable get the return, and refund, not much else you can do.

If WHAT is viable? When/if a buyer opens an item not as described, the seller will, 95% of the time, be required to refund upon receipt of the returned item.

Contact eBay and request they investigate the buyer and the buyer's IP address for abusing the returns system.  Avoid arguing with the buyer and don't tell the buyer you are doing this.

It is well understood here on eBay that when a buyer automatically starts a claim without contacting the seller, that can be a sign of bad faith on the part of the buyer.

That being said, I can usually persuade a buyer to send photos of the item by telling the buyer that as soon as I get a short description of the damage and a photo (only for business record keeping), the refund will be issued.

The way the buyer responds to that request can work against them if they lie or send photos that do not match the original item. Although it is usually a struggle, you can win in cases of outright fraud.

this person is delusional. they are talking about me. they sent me an item that was blatantly not as described. i asked for a return. he accuses me of planning on scamming him by switching the figure with another. ebay sides against him. he says he does not want figure and refunds me in full. he then sends me a beligerent message cursing me out for being a reseller. I called eBay and checked to see if I owed him a return in this situation, they said no. He said such horrible things in his message to me that I was not going to go out of my way to return his figure to him. Next time don't say in an ebay return case chat dialogue that you don't want the figure and that I can keep it. I have screenshots of our correspondence and can prove everything he is saying is nonsense. He lied about every single detail.

This is something that is very common in certain categories. Toys is one of them! For your own metal health, don't fight the insanity. It's never going to change.

this person is a liar. they are talking about me. i would be happy to prove everything he said wrong. he is blatantly lying about almost every detail.

he sent me an obviously opened action figure which he passed off as mint. he then says my standards are too high and accuses me of intending to swap out one of my damaged figures with his good figure. A pretty bold claim to make to someone with 3,000 positive reviews and 0 negative in the past year alone like me. ebay sides against him and is going to force him to pay the return shipping.

He says in the return chat dialogue that he did not want the figure and then refunds me in full.

He then sends me a beligerent message full of insults after he found out I was a reseller. He demands I send the figure back.

I checked with ebay to see what my obligation was. They said the return is closed. I am not going out of my way to accomodate someone who spoke to me like he did. His message was full of lies and delusion and insults. He doesn't deserve anything. His mouth and actions got him exactly where he was.

he left out an important detail. that he told me to keep the figure and refunded me in full. he did so in the ebay return chat dialogue. he then found out I was a reseller and sends me a beligerent message full of insults and outrageous claims. He then expected me to go out of my way to return his figure to him. I even double checked with ebay, they said that the return is closed because of the way he went about it. They can't open the case back up just because he changed his mind. Normally I would send people back their item if I got my money back but this person said unforgiveable things to me, most of which were delusional lies so I felt I had no obligation to him.

What’s viable is use free returns so you can deduct up to 50 percent off the return . That’s all folks.
