I sold an item through Global Program, item arrive damaged, I was told to tell the customer to open a case and after 4 days to escalate the case and eaby would find in my favor no worries.
Shouldn't a case like this be given to a GSP agent?
Does anyone know the process when the item was damaged during the international leg?
Thank You
Mike

This has been addressed several times by eBay Canada staff.
As a seller using the program, your responsibility ends when the item is delivered to Erlanger.
The seller is not affected.
You can reduce these problems both by your usual excellent packaging and MORE IMPORTANT by clearly and accurately stating where the item you sell was MANUFACTURED.
If there is no indication of manufacturing origin, PB will open your parcel, determine origin, and repack.
Really really badly.
Tell your customer to start the dispute. It will not hurt you. You keep your money and your status.

You are the Norwegian buyer?
Your seller only has to prove delivery to Kentucky. From there the GSP ships it to Norway.
Allow 20-25 days for delivery from date of payment.
Then if the item has not yet arrived, file an Item Not Recieved dispute with eBay/Paypal. If the GSP cannot show that the item has been delivered to you, they will refund you from their own pocket.
Your seller is no longer responsibel after delivery to Kentucky. This is normal and not a problem. The tracking numbers you may see from GSP are internal and no information will be available.
This progam was set up to protect American sellers from unnecessary Item Not Recieved claims. Once accepted by GSP in Kentucky the seller has no further responsibility.

Thanks for the reply, Maybe the staff in Canada knows more than the phone support. I watched the GSP webinar yesterday and they really didn't explain the process well. I wanted to know what the customer had to do and what to expect.

So that means i just waisted money to a seller, who sell an item but has also a transaction with other buyer and instead sent the item to a much closer to her and claimed my money.

Sometimes it is better to post in your first language. I found it difficult to understand what was happening.
I think you bought from a seller in the USA.
You did not recieve the item.
No matter where she is or where you are, file an Item Not Recieved dispute. She must prove that the item was delivered to you or refund you.
If she does not refund you, Paypal will and go after her for the money.
If the seller is in the USA and shipped under the Global Shipping Program, she only has to show that the item got to Kentucky. In that case, unless the GSP (Pitney Bowes) can prove that the item was delivered to you, they will refund you.
But if you are the seller, and it is very unclear, if you can show you shipped to the GSP plant in Kentucky, your responsibility is over.

I agree - contact the GSP regarding missing or lost shipment. The US seller's responsibility ended once the package safely reached Erlanger, Kentucky.
