There is always someone who cares.   I know this is TCM's thread & hope she doesn't mind if I start #3.   We can't go without a 'who the heck cares'.

Well, we're gonna see about buying a new riding lawnmower today once the fog burns off.

Old faithful bit the dust. Had it over 10 years .

Shirley, that does look like the evil queen in snow white.

Did Mattel make one?

That the right company that makes Barbies?

Well, maybe Friday will set out the camellias.

Maybe they'll survive.

Now the fire ants are back in the garden.

Going to mix up some peppermint spray. They don't seem to like that.

Cathy, behind the curtain is 'Four'.   Mattel did the character from the Divergent movies.  The Queen is from Snow White and I think she is Disney.  I could be wrong on that one.  Antiope (Barbie) is Mattel and is Wonder Woman's aunt (I think).  Mattel did several characters from the Wonder Woman movie...WW herself, her aunt and her mother.  There was a guy too they did; Steve Trevor.  I don't have him. 

Just like that winter is done and now we are back to mowing, gardening, and fighting yard pests!

C.A.T.'s Daily Routine (Spring 2025)

6:30 a.m. - Walk around sleeping servant/stare at close up to get them to open door (if they refuse to get up, continue to jump back on bed, walk around.....& across bladder/kidney area. NOTE: alarm is set for 7a.m.).

6:40a.m. - Meow/scream, run claws over glass & act like trying to get the last seat off Titanic......until servant opens patio door & lets out.

6:48a.m. - Repeat actions on patio door to be let in.......then as door opens, run across yard at full gallop & climb tree. Refuse to come in.

7:00 a.m. - Commence patrol of grounds.

9:00 a.m. - Return from patrol....demand to be let in for breakfast #1. Let servant know about menu suggestions (anything except what is in bowl).

9:15 a.m. - Repeat "Titanic act"....return outside. Repeat every 2 hours.

5:00 p.m. - Listen to servant calling....ignore. Continue for several hours.  

7:00 p.m. - Return for dinner......make sure servant knows to serve canned cat food by screaming, getting underfoot & (if necessary) sinking claws into servant's kneecap. Eat part of dinner.

7:15 p.m. - Repeat "Titanic act" with no results. Let servant know this is unacceptable....a lot. Prune small babies off spider plant. Sulk behind chest in living room. Repeat throughout evening.

I can appreciate the C.A.T. routine.  Didn't take long for The Maz to come up with one of her own. 

I had to come in here this morning..supposed to be getting ready for the grocery shop thing, but needed a time-out from my 'routine'. 

Speaking of Snow White, the Evil Queen, and the actors who portray characters of movies, wanted to share a little bit more.   In the latest Snow White, guess who plays the Evil Queen?  Gal Gadot, 'Wonder Woman'.

Fruit, he knows how far he can go. Doesn't stop him from trying to push the envelope, though.lol

That 'kitten' on the back porch is about half grown now and does that long scream when you go out the door. Got to turn around and get a bowl of cat food for him.

I don't recall any of my girl cats doing that.

OK, didn't mean to push my interests off on to you or expect you to keep up.  Just thought it could be interesting as far as actors go and characters they play from heroine to evil villian.   Sorry.

As far as Barbie's like the Wonder Woman dolls, they are actually action figures and in my opinion are not 'fashion' dolls.  But, that's JMHO.

There seems to be a lot of reviews on the "Snow White" movie saying it's a stinker. There are very few "remakes" that I like.....just shouldn't mess with them.

It has been an....odd week here. It was anounced they are closing the canery here (been here since the 1920s) in June.  There's around 85 people losing their job....that may not seem like a lot, but for a little town like this it's a major employer. Mr. Fabulous worked there as a summer job while in high school as well as my MIL & her sisters.

Today I got a call from my neice in France (was hired by Disney right out of college, first for Disney World,now for Euro Disney). I haven't seen her since Mr. Fabulous' funeral so if she's calling something is wrong. 

It seems Disney wants to send her & her husband (also works for Disney) to.....Shanghi to work on a project they are developing. Long term. And she doesn't want to go. Her daughters are know in the "Tweens" where EVERYTHING is drama🙄.....& she grew up an "Army Brat", moving to wherever her dad was assigned. She wants to stay put. Plus she is experiencing "the change" so she feels like crap, worried, etc. I have never seen her like this, so I spent almost an hour calming her down.

Add in all the usual weirdness with "El Cheeto Presidente".....& it's becoming a Bizarro Universe.

Comes a point in time when one just wants to stay put and not travel around the world anymore.   Hope you got your niece calmed down.  I guess she knew who she could turn to.  Always nice to know someone like that.  Oh yeah, El Cheeto, the abomination of desolation.

el Heron remembers Bizarro...!  Heron is also at the stage in life where he does NOT want to travel.  Staying home. Watching old movies on cable TV.  Watching MLB games. Dodgers off to a nice start 5 wins and no losses...!  (This is not necessarily a good thing because Heron remembers a season start about 40 years pasado when the Dodgers won the first 10 or 11 games of the season and then fizzled and lost the same number of games.  Baseball is a great sport because anything can happen.  And usually does happen. 

Socal Weather: We had about a week of nice spring weather.  Today we have the drizzles.  It is similar to the western Washington State drizzles. Very light and small droplets of wet.  The local weather prognosticators say we should receive about 1/2 inch of rain from this storm.  Now, that is not much compared to places in the middle of this country.  However, this area, being a former desert, a 1/2 inch of rain is important.

Not much else to report.

Yardwork is in full swing.  Spent 1.5 hours out there today.  Lovely day.  Bad weather over the weekend which eluded us, but seemed to travel around us.  Though, we have another chance later this week with a 3 day storm.  Predicting the same stuff, hail, high winds, tornadoes, and for us, as much as 10 inches of rain is possible.  While 40 miles south of us may only get about an inch.  Funny, a friend of mine just had snow.  Yes, Bizarro. 

Yes, no want to travel.  I'll just make a Barbie scene and pretend I'm there.
