There is always someone who cares. I know this is TCM's thread & hope she doesn't mind if I start #3. We can't go without a 'who the heck cares'.

Lady Dom......I understand today is "Boxing Day".......a traditional holiday where the gentry give the servants the day off & give them "leftovers & small presents".
In honor of this holiday (& because the C.A.T. already gave me both)......I guess I will be cleaning the litter box.😒🤢😸
I don't believe he has the concept of the "day off" thing.
Our weather is supposed to be in the high 30s-low 40s with rain showers for the rest of the week. Cold, drizzly/foggy.
Welcome to England.....perhaps it's time to crack one of the baby fruitcakes.
"Not just for breakfast anymore".

Good Morning everyone!
We had a happy Christmas, but we stayed up WAY to late on Christmas eve playing cards against humanity with mom and friends!
All I got was cash for Christmas and I'm ok with that! LMAO
Off to the yarn store (just joking I have to work today and tomorrow).

We had a pretty good Christmas.
I ate pizza, fruitcake, and cookies at Sis'house.
Sunday before Christmas the church went to Ozark and ate at a restaurant the Preacher's parents like to go to.
It's about 30 miles from here.
When we got there they had a line that went all the way from the serving station to the front door and left a gap for people to go in and come out through, then that part of the line went almost all the way back along the other wall.
With a crowd like that I was thinking it would be some really good food.
It's cafeteria style. Like going back to the old school lunch room.
I ordered chicken fingers, dressing, fried okra, cream style corn, corn bread, cranberry sauce, blueberry delight.
It was ok, but would rather go someplace else next time.
Celery was the overwhelming taste in the dressing, and it had shredded turkey all in it and was dry.
I liked the fried okra and cream style corn best.
The blueberry delight didn't taste quite right.
Think they may have added some cinnamon to the crust.
I was disappointed.
So I was tired of traditional Christmas food.
Possible rough weather to come through on Sunday morning. Say a little prayer for us.
Hope everyone has a nice evening. It's almost midnight here. Good night.🥱

Belated Christmas tidings to all.
My younger son was vacationing in Japan, and flew back to the States on the 23.
We had a fairly quiet Xmas eve and Christmas. It’s my older son’s bday today. We celebrated his bday yesterday, because he has plans today.
Phoenix got a new bed, and a stuffed lambchop(the character). He was very excited.
I hope Dom shows us a photo of her entire tree.

I just read the last page of posts. Dom pushed her tree already. Although, the lights are hiding the herd.
Congratulations Fredi! That’s great news. Exciting.
Heron, I once got a job in a similar way. They asked if I spoke German. My mom had taught me how to ask: where is the train station, please?(when I was a kid) -I got the job. 😜 It was for a small role in a movie. It’s not like I actually needed to know how to communicate. I was never an actress. I mostly did background work, and occasional tiny bit parts. I was a costumer, and that other job kept me working around the business when I was struggling to get into the union. All that work, and then I ended up married with two kids to care for .. so the career promptly ended. 🤣 My husband traveled a lot for his job, and costumers work long hours. It was impossible for me to stay at my job when they came along.
I am not what you think I am. You are what you think I am.

Hola Shirleys...! The Alt Heron has lernt many things over the years. The problem now is recall. Plus a bit of memory loss due to concussion. Heron was taught some Franconian dialect of German by one a Heron's grandfathers. Spanish was started in 1944. Mas o menos.

Hola Shirleys...! When Heron was Export Mgr for large corporation he was temporary Marketing Manager for Canada. The corporation had several large customers in Quebec Province. One customer was teaching Heron some French phrases but all Heron can remember now is 'Ca Va Mon Ami'... ha. (Most of Heron's time in Canada was used searching for a Canadian Marketing Manager. After 10 months of searching Heron found the perfect guy for the job).
Learning Spanish. Just never know when the learning opportunity will strike. Two of the Canadian home office secretaries spoke Spanish.
One was from Jamaica and the other from the Bahamas. A good opportunity for el Heron to learn more, por seguro!

Hola Fruitflogger...! This is a good place for Heron to report weather conditions at the Socal Coast. Our weather has been about the same for about 8 weeks now. NO rain. Some morning low marine layer of clouds.
Cool mornings and warm afternoons. High temps in P.M. usually 63 or 64 degrees Fahrenhype. The most interesting thing that has happened lately is the HIGH surf along the coast, reaching to 15 feet or so. And tomorrow will probably be the same as today. No rain forecast for the next 7 days.

Belated Merry Christmas! All sounds good as had a fun & busy week! Have 3 neighbors all of whom get into baking goodies to share (we get in there too, so lots to go 'round). Germans across the street and Hispanic to the left. Hawaiian in the middle and 'who knows' to the right. It was a great Christmas!
Cathy, thanks for breakfast! (back there a few days ago). I have zero bunnies around here now. Have one that shows up at night. I never see him, but DH does when he goes out for last 'check' of the day.
I agree, DOM needs to re-post the little tree with all the cows upon it.
Speaking of Dom the Lady, I like her new mouse pad!
TCM ~ Thanks for sharing a tidbit I didn't know about you. How interesting. Ever wonder what your life could have been had you made a different choice in life? I 'spose we all think that from time to time, but must always keep the forward gaze into life. Yikes.
Heron ~ Indeed you need to write a book with lots of chapters 😊 I have not been brushing up on any languages except perhaps a little espanol for Christmas with my neighbors. Feel like all I was saying was 'muchas gracias' for all the traditional and homemade foods & a little more about the culture which they seem to hold on to traditional ways.
Fruit ~ A merry Christmas to you and C.A.T 😊 You don't want him to take a day off from the litter box if you know what I mean...nothing worse than a constipated cat running about the house with a stuck turd 😂 I did make it to animal control a few times during the season just to check in on all the captives. Met a couple of Tabby cats that tugged a little at my heart (you know, take me home sort of tug). One little girl was very loveable and then it became clear poor little girl was going into heat. Kids petting her and 'mom, what is she doing"? 😂 Needless to say, she did not get adopted on that day.
Fredi ~ Hoping it all goes well with you!
Trying to remember what everyone wrote...this old brain gets a tad fuzzy at times outside the usual.....

Hola Shirleys...! That blonde in the fancy hooded parka looks almost like Ms. Heron...!!
Weather: more low marine layer of clouds plus fog. However, the weather prognosticators this A.M. predict we will have warmer temps starting on 1 Enero. Yeehaw..! Maybe we will have an early spring?

We're having unseasonably warmish weather right now. I'm not complaining, but I will be next week when we get down into the cold temps!
I spent part of my Xmas money on some new boots, finally! LOL I've been missing my brown fleece lined ones and I found a pair on amazon, I sure hope I like them!
Awhile back I invested in a kit to apply semi-cured gel nail stickers to my nails. I finally got around to getting them put on yesterday. Turned out, ok. I can see room for improvement, but I think that will take me some time. I've always liked my nails painted, but I can't paint my right hand for anything and paying someone an outrageous price seems crazy to me. Plus the salon gels are so thick, these stickers aren't as thick but they are thicker than regular polish. But so far they are staying on my nails! LOL
