This is not a figure that ebay would release publicly, of course, but one has to wonder what percentage of dissatisfied sellers are leaving ebay and placing their items on other sites and how quickly this is occuring? Has the MASS EXODUS begun yet or is it still just a small trickle? Anyone here in the know with reasonable estimates, please weigh in...

Yes, new sellers are joining Ebay - primarily sellers of cheap, poorly made, lightweight (so not much shipping cost investment) garbage. Ebay has, apparently, made a decision to cease being a serious marketplace for anything of value, in favor of being a marketplace for cheaply made garbage. Ebay sellers with anything of true value to sell will need to find another marketplace. We may have to wait a bit (Etsy is, unfortunately, not adequately filling that gap), but some brilliant entrepreneur (or group of entrepreneurs) will see the opportunity to fill the void created by Ebay's prioritization of high volume cheaply made garbage and step into the gap (and likely make a fortune). I am saddened that the Ebay I started selling on in the late 1990's has committed suicide.

I agree this is getting to be too much. To think this topic has 160+ replies over a 5 year span. Cant believe this is still going on. We love ebay but they are just not protecting the sellers at all anymore like they use to and prices going up and discounts going down it is just getting to be too much. Very frustrating.

TWO sales on ecrater in a YEAR - sorry no buyers. And watch out for Etsy. They are hard core and it is easy to scam buyers and get bounced from there for "too many complaints" in a 12 month period. Never mind if the complaints were valid, you could prove they were lying, or if the buyer returns or refunds for no particular reason. They also aren't too good about making buyers return items fro dashing off refunds.

From what you heard must be the voices inside your head. Where do you get your statistics from? Especially if ebay is losing power sellers and other fantastic sellers who start auctions no reserve! Thats who makes ebay not a newb with a couple items. Think it out world and if you still don't get it think a little or a lot harder. Some ppls opinions lol wow

I am not sure how many are leaving. I dont have a ton complaints. Rising fees, rising postal rates. rising returns and ebays lack of care about their sellers. I understand that ebay has to take care of the buyers, but they need to take care of the sellers also. I was really hoping that with ebay forcing us to use them for managed payment that we would not have to pay fees on on the state sales tax amount paid by buyers. Of course I was let down there. My other main concern is the postal rates. I live In Montana and a 2 pound package is $10.85 to the east coast, a 3 pound package to the east coast jumps to $15.47. Fed Ex for the 3 pound package is $11.00. As we know ebay wants everyone to have fast and free shipping so for 2 days quicker shipping I am out $4 a box. I dont have to tell any of the sellers on the extra cost of the 1-4 ounces first class packages since the last postal increase.
