Please start all HowTo threads with words "How to". This will make easy to find them in the future.

Dear Alan D, this is a very interesting page on Your steadily growing Picasa encyclopedia - I gather from that - haven't got one - that these status quo sets will lock the pieces in place after sliding a metal plate across uder the board. Every bit helps, so I really appreciate these instructive picasa series of Yours... Other peg sets rely on jamming the pieces in till You cannot get them out again!! Still, the Whittington type folding sets are easier to handle, when a bit damaged - just simple miniature carpentry and veneer artistry, or replacing an old screw tby a less old screw .. childs play really... cheers Nick

Re How to repair a Status Quo locking mechanism?

Alan Chessspy. I've more than 1 of these sets. Years ago, I tried (unsuccessfully) to have someone repair one of them. I think your directions will help me. Thanks. John

Re How to repair a Status Quo locking mechanism?

Thanks Nick, I appreciate that comment more than most. Yes the plate is a locking device thus the name, "Status Quo" (Not a homage to the pop group obviously);) John, Just follow the instructions to the letter, Especially the marking and bagging of screws etc. Check that it hasn't been opened and reglued before or it can be difficult.
