Watch Out

I sold an expensive watch on Ebay. I shipped within 3 days to the buyer. Someone else signed for the watch and the buyer said he never received it. I have a tracking number that proves it was delivered to his address. Ebay went into my Paypal account and reimbursed the buyer so I was out the watch $250.00 and the watch.

This really sucks. I have almost 1000 successful transactions on Ebay and may close my account. I talked with an Ebay customer service person and they said they would look into it but never heard back from them.

Re: Watch Out

When he opened the Dispute in the Resolution Centre did you respond by entering the tracking number that showed delivery?

On an item valued under $250, that should have closed the Dispute in your favour.
On an item valued over $750, the signature should have closed the Dispute in your favour.

What happened after the Dispute was opened?

Re: Watch Out

This seems to be a new scam. I just saw a complaint that someone came out of the customer's back yard and signed for something in order to steal it. They are going to have to start getting people's driver's licences or something. It's horrible.

Re: Watch Out

@classyclr  What is odd is that if tracking showed delivery to the buyers address then you should have won the case.  You just respond in the case with the tracking and you win.    The only way you should lose a case where tracking shows delivery is if you didn't ship to the address that was on sales record.  That would mean that YOU changed the address after the buyer paid.

Did you contact CS and ask why seller protection for tracking delivery confirmation didn't protect you?

I would contact CS on social media.

Contact customer service:
https://www.ebay.com/help/-/-/Contacting_eBay_Customer_Service?id=4379

If you are outside of the US you can call using SKYPE https://www.skype.com/en/ Or google voice https://voice.google.com/about

Or you can also contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID and a brief explanation of your problem.

Ebay and PayPal were supposedly de-vested
Yet they share our data and coordinate sales
for example why doesn't PayPal put a buyers email
on their forms, they used to
I asked and got some mumbo jumbo double talk

Ebay - PayPal does NOT honor signature confirmation
even when properly executed
If the scam buyer is persuasive He/she always wins the disputes
after 20 years on Ebay
as a seller I have perhaps won 2-3 out of a fifty or more.
