Newbie seller. Need pointers

Hiya all. I'm new to ebay as a seller. I have bought many things from ebay, but never sold anything till now. I was wondering if you could take a look at my auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3443616101&category=31545&rd=1 What can I do to improve the chances of me selling my laptop (I got a new computer recently)? I tried to sign up for paypal, but when I do, I always get an error messege. It says "Not valid" or "Your browser doesn't support cookies" which it does, so I don't now what the deal is. I know using paypal would improve the chances, but it won't let me sign up :o( Also, I did a search just to be curious if my item was properly listed, but I couldn't find it. Does this mean it's not listed at all? Thanks in advance 🐵

Hello Karatekid1975, You should try another browser to access paypal.com.. check your cookies setting and clear your cache.. Regarding your auction.. It is very difficult to sell a laptop computer on ebay without a ton of feedback. There is fraud everywhere on electronics and it is especially bad in the laptop and camera area.... with zero feedback, I double you will have a sale but you never know.. If it does not sell you can try using a selling assistant in your area.. start off by selling cheap household type items that you would give to goodwill anyway and don't care about profit.. get a little experience and feedback and you should do well... Happy T-day Daniel

Thanks for the Advice, but I don't plan on selling anything else. This is going to be a one time thing for me. Getting feedback would be a waste of time for one item. But I think I will try the selling assistant thing. Thanks again 🐵

Yea I would try the selling assistant. With 0 feedback you would be lucky to get $50 for your laptop. GOODLUCK!

I found out that I have to pay a selling assistant monthy. That also is kind of a waste for me. I'm not out to open a Ebay store, or sell anything else .... maybe one more item. But that's it. The rating thing is not fair to us who don't need to sell more than one thing. I'm not out to complain, but it isn't. I'll check out other auction sites. Thanks

Ok, sorry. I over-reacted :o( Anyways, I did find stuff I can sell to get ratings. I think I'll try that first. If that doesn't work, I'll try the selling assistant. Thanks everyone for your help 🐵

If your only wanting to sell 1 thing and thats it, why not advertise it in your local paper. It seems a lot of hassle to go scraping around for other things to sell to get a feedback rating just to sell 1 laptop. How come your feedback rating is 0 if youve bought many things? did you buy them under a different user name?If so maybe it would be better logging on with that and changing it in your preferences. You will get an icon indicating that you changed your user name but atleast your feedback will show wishing you much success budgetflyer
