Need some help with the translation please. Has anyone used the Standard Envelope option yet? Am I correct that it has to be practically standard mailing envelope? I generally sandwich my cards between two pieces of cardboard for stability, but it looks like the entire envelope has to be inform in thickness. I don't see how that is possible with a 3"x4" piece of cardboard, it wouldn't make it "uniformly" flat. And the address being parallel to the longest side is confusing, I print out the shipping label and could attach parallel, but the actual address itself would be running horizontal. Maybe I'm making it more difficult that it should be, but I just want to make sure I'm using it right.

Charges for labels will be as set out in your order. Label charges for this program are non-refundable and non-voidable once the label is printed. Additional Charges may apply in certain circumstances which are described below in the section titled “Additional Charges”. You are committed to payment of the charges when you print the label (including additional charges). Total charges, including additional charges, if any, are calculated once we receive invoices from our suppliers based on actual shipping costs. Each time you use a label, the total charge will be added to your monthly eBay invoice and will be payable under the terms of your eBay Billing Agreement. For Managed Payments Sellers, the charges and additional charges are payable in a manner consistent with the Payments Terms of Use.

I took one to the post office yesterday, only had it in a toploader and folded with a piece of paper. I asked the agent if this would be acceptable and he said as long as it was able to be "folded and/or bent", because the machine it ran through would do that to it. I can' t understand why Ebay would have worked out an agreement with the USPS to mail sports cards knowing this. It was only a $12 card, but I certainly didn't like the "folded/bent" and it has me more than slightly concerned now. The Postal agent stamped it "Do Not Bend", but don't know that the machine reads that.

So my first one I sent went well but I have several EXXXXXX tracking numbers showing no tracking. I kept my first batch limited as to experiment with this new program but I must say i'm concerned. I get that it is "supposed" to scan but as we all know the postal service is basically ignorant to this new program at the local level and when it comes to us as sellers, this is a new program but we are risking our Feedback % on it. I just hope Ebay, for once as a seller, has my back if their program does not run as advertised cause i have followed the instructions to the "letter".

Shipped my first few today using this new system/rate.
I would love to know where I can leave some feedback to eBay
So far it seems pretty good, USPS didn't have any issues accepting my envelopes (the ones from eBay article are sold out so I got some from Amazon, but the envelope itself weighs 1.4oz - 3x as much as my bubble mailers!)
Anyways, I ran into my very first issue today:
I had a card for sale on auction that ended at $0.99, with the eBay standard envelope (flat rate $1 which includes the shipping and supplies) so $1.99 total ..... my issue is that the buyer is in PR, so he paid the $1.99, and when I go to print, the eBay standard envelope option is not available (I am assuming not because in 48 CONUS or 50 US states?) and the cheapest option was First class mail, which is almost double what the buyer paid for the card and shipping combined! I tried contacting eBay but pretty much was told to contact the buyer and ask for more money .....
Just a heads up

What has your experience been after a couple weeks? Any issues with the tracking?
Did you use top loaders? I read that you should not send them in top loaders as they may break in postal machines. Do you use any other material when you ship?
Lots of questions and appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Every once in awhile my post office will return mine to my PO box saying they are nonmachinable, but it happens less than 10% of the time. I just drive them to another post office and they get shipped fine.

I would recommend against using this service until they work out the kinks.
I used the eBay branded paperboard mailers (https://www.ebay.com/itm/PRE-ORDER-6-x-8-Paperboard-Mailjacket-Envelope-No-padding/254808890842?hash...). I shipped out 2 penny sleeved cards to a buyer and their USPS location made them fork out $3.49 (first class package?) at the post office to get the item. Of course this led to a negative review.
I also have only had tracking work on about 10% of the items I have sold this way.
If you are going to use this service, use a PWE with a top loader. Do not risk using paperboard mailers, which in theory, would protect the card much better.

There are a few things that some of us had to learn the hard way because nobody has explained in any detail how this system works. The Post Office and the roll-out of this program have been on two different pages from day one. Nobody in the P.O. knows anything about this service and those 6x8 paperboard mailers are not always going to be excepted even though they seem ideal for mailing cards. The post office will not run rigid or semi-rigid mailers through mail sorting machines intentionally. These can be removed and charged postage due. I agree only PWE should be used and the label should be placed just as you would a regular envelope centered. Roller marks from the machines can mess up the barcodes to where they cannot be read. Here is one I recently received with a single toploader inside and you can get an idea of what these cards go through. I see a lot of sellers selling Jersey and relic thick cards using this service which can be suicide for a card or a mailer that is too thick or overstuffed. They say you can put up to 15 raw cards in a single mailer - good luck with that. These machines are not designed to process anything too rigid that will not bend and give some.

Has anyone used 3.5" x 4 7/8" (A1) envelopes with this?
It is just under the length requirement, not sure if they round that number up.

The eBay standard shipping option is greyed out. Does the final value have to be smaller than a certain value in order to qualify for the eBay standard shipping?

I use the free store suppys ebay envelopes letter size and recently started just to buy bags or boxes of unused greeting cards and insert decals in the card. I get entire boxes of sometimes 500 cards for a $1 at flea markets, Plus I mail them by the season and get good feedback.

I also print on paper and trim the size of the label to fit. It doesn't seem to matter if you trim off the bottom border an inch, I then attach a label with just ebay branded tape. Been doing this for 2 years. The only issue I had once was that an item was too thick and was returned nonmachinable surcharge required. I just added a forever stamp and it ended up scanned and delivered. If to thick and not bendable. I just add a stamp to the envelope and write non-machineable surcharge below the stamp. Not sure if this is correct , But works with no issues
