Need a Fisherman's Help

I'm looking to ID the type of fish that is mounted here.  Also, is there a special name for this unusual (to me at least) mounting style?  Thanks for your help.

Fish is a bass.  I am not sure about whether it is small mouth or large mouth.  It is a poor mans mount.  The head is cut off, nailed to a board and placed out in the sun to dry out and then shellaced.

this is most definately a smallmouth bass.... which is more common in the northern regions of the country but some south as well but more in MI where im at... i havent caught a largemouth in a few years now cuz theyre so rare ... lol... i live in the thumb of MI Caseville exactally... but i LOVE to eat perch and walleye im spoiled i wont eat other fresh fish usually.... but we have lots stocked up too... lol... but i catch alot of those exact fish in the river behind my house when casting at dark for walleye.... they def. arent the usual southern bass though like most are used to largemouth and the other type most dont recognize is almost a mix.... Spotted they look just slightly dif. than largmouth and they usually will grow to be biggest... usually.... biggest smallmouth ive ever got was 9.6 lbs.. but thats a monster especially in this colder climate where they cant grow year-round.... trust me on everything i just said ive been fishing here my entire life....

Well, unless they have vastly different carp in Bulgaria than in the rest of the world that is not a carp. Carp are bottom feeders with sucker type mouths.
