When you make the listing select calculated shipping and add the box size and weight and there should be no problem. It will automatically calculate (compute) the shipping for any zipcode.

You don't get the best rate for the customer.
You get the best rate for you.
As suggested, using Calculated Shipping will automatically show the buyer how much she will pay for shipping.
This is important when the shipping rate will vary with destination, as well as dimensions and weight.
Do not guess at this
I bought a digital scale that measures up to five kilos (over 10lbs, I think?) for under $20 at Canadian Tire. And a measuring tape should be available anywhere sewing supplies or hardware are sold.
If you cancel the sale, you will get a Defect.
Defects lead to higher Final Value Fees, restrictions on the number and value of listings, and even closed accounts.
We cannot raise the cost of shipping after the sale.
Ship and take the blow.
And then learn from the problem.
I'm not sure if it is also true in the USA, but we Canadian sellers get a small discount on some postal services. I think you can get a discount buying postage from companies like Costco (stamps) or Stamps.com. There are also sellers here on eBay who sell discounted postage. Search for "Postage Lot".

Sales Tax: For some states, ebay has implemented a policy whereby they collect applicable state sales tax from the purchaser and remit same to that state. This is beyond my control. You may want to familiarize yourself with the laws of your state regarding this matter.....SORRY THEY ARE COLLECTING SALES TAX FOR MOST STATES NOW..
You don't need to explain this unless the customer asks. He is not interested in your problems. He may be surprised by the state sales tax on an internet purchase.
thanks for your understanding during c. operations' an move getting it back as much as possible not sure about all while my helpers were moving an shipping so if anything on past orders was not right please let me know .. thanks mike
This is just.... just drop it.
This may be your hobby, but you are working hard to discourage customers from buying from you when you sound so.... scattered.

The Description part of your listing is meant to describe the item being sold. Age, brand, colour, scratches, missing bits, upgrades.

Shipping prices can be had at USPS website; they are a bit higher- who cares? Now you're covered. Takes 30 seconds to get that price.
