signature confirmation policy for items value over 750$

Hello,

I have a question about eBay's signature confirmation policy for items value over 750$. I understand that if sales price was over 750$, then the seller (me) is obliged to purchase shipping service with signature confirmation.

In my case, I use DHL Express for all international packages. This is signed delivery service by default.

The question is, what will happen if the buyer (reciever) opts for contacltess delivery, like leaving package at front of the door AND the package got stolen?

DHL Express will have "Delivered" status in tracking and POD, but the buyer will most likely open the case for 'item not delivered'. The POD from DHL will be missing name and signature.

Am I covered under the eBay's seller protection programme in that case? From one hand, I did my best to choose best available shipping service. On the other hand, there will be no name and signature on the POD, and eBay might issue a refund to the buyer based on that.

If tracking shows the item was delivered to the address provided in the order then you are covered. 

I don't ever ship over seas.. so

If I am incorrect, I'm sure someone will be along to point that out.

Have you ever encounteted such situation?

the eBay customer support chat told that both name AND signature must be visible on the POD. But unfortunately that manager could not answer my question what will happen if buyer himself opted for contactless delivery.

No, because I don't sell items that are sold for over $750 and I don't ship internationally.

I'm pretty sure DHL has something in place if the customer wants contactless delivery.
