Since this is the holidays how does one offer a customer the ability to have it sent at priority or by USPS Ground Advantage? I offer free shipping but I don't want to order the priority price. But would like to pay the ground cost and have them pay the difference? Is this even possible?

You want to offer USPS Priority but you don’t want to order the price? Then don’t offer free shipping have the buyer pay instead of you.
Or you can incorporate the cost of shipping into the price of the item and offer free shipping.

thank you for answering. Wish there was a way to offer both. I think it would be a great selling feature.

You can offer two (or more) shipping choices, and check off "Free" for the first one. IIRC this can't be done if you're using your phone, you have to use an actual computer to access all of the options on the listing form.
Unfortunately, the listing form isn't clever enough to figure out how to charge the buyer only the difference between the free option and the upgraded service; it will charge the full cost for Priority.
One workaround would be to set the package weight to a lower amount so the calculator charges less, but then you'd have to remember to correct the weight when purchasing the postage label. Another workaround would be to set the shipping at a flat rate, rather than calculated, and then charge only the difference between Ground Advantage and Priority for whatever amount makes sense, such as whatever is the greatest difference between the two zoned prices (probably the Zone 8 price). You can look those up here. Use the eBay shipping calculator if you need to know how much you'll actually be paying for that Priority Mail label.

You could figure out the Priority shipping cost to the farthest location in the US that you might ship to. Subtract the amount that you have in the item price for 'free shipping' and then set a flat rate for Priority.
For example, if you think that your average cost for shipping first class is $6 and the cost for shipping Priority would be $12, then use flat rate shipping and put in a shipping cost of $6 for Priority.

I did priority a few weeks ago and it was delayed by weeks...Virginai & Florida.
Offering this and if it doesn't happen to get delivered as priority could lead to a refund in shipping to the buyer. There is a big storm heading toward me Monday...San Francisco...which eventually heads east.

Since you offer free shipping, why offer any choices? Mail it any way you want.
