Luckily I have few delayed packages. To deal with it, I proactively contacted the buyers to let them know that i was aware of the delay, had talked to my Postmaster about it, and will keep them updated. Something like this might work for you.
Dear Buyer,
I know your package has been delayed due to the pandemic, but want to let you know I am on top of it and happy to do whatever I can to see your package safely delivered. My postmaster is assisting me in the effort. Thank you for your continued patience.

Yes we all are. I have some shipments that are more than 3 weeks late. Ebay says they are helping, but the CS reps will tell you something different than the emails Ebay send to make you feel that you have nothing to worry about. I'm looking at about 25-30 refunds if these packages don't make it. The WILL make it and the buyer will get the item for free. Will Ebay help us with the lost sales? HAHAHAHAHA. No.

I do not particularly have trouble explaining, I simply get tired of doing so since Dec 5th.
