seller conned me with ipad version, sent old version, now says no refund !! Help !

Seller advertised ipad mini 4 for $180 , I paid the money and when I received it was ipad 1. Which at the Apple store is worth $34 !!! Now the seller says - sorry!  NO RETURNS!

He is a conman. I am not sure what to do...He is probably conning many others like this...

If the item that you received is not the item that was advertised in the listing, you need to request a return using the not as described reason.  The seller will be responsible for the return shipping.

First, read eBay's money back guarantee, then go to the Resolution Center and open a case for ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED.

You cannot be ripped off on Ebay so long as you know how to complete a successful return/MBG guarantee claim. You will want to request to return this item for 'Item Not As Described', it is the sellers responsibility to provide you a return label and refund once the item shows delivered back to them. If they fail to provide a return label or funds to you to purchase a label, ask Ebay to step in and assist within the required timeline and you will receive either an immediate refund or a label to return and a refund once tracking indicates delivery. If the seller should refuse the returned package no worries you will still receive a refund. Just make sure to ship it back to the address that they provide, so if they message saying 'no send it here' don't listen to that. By the sounds of it they are a complete crook and I'm sure have all sorts of methods to try and trip up a buyer.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I have started the return process and shipped the item back. Ebay provided the return label although the seller sent one time one line response 'sorry no refund' but I guess eBay will step in for the refund.

Your seller will have (I think) three days to refund you. If they do not refund after the time is up, ask Ebay to step in. Ebay will force the refund. You will be refunded and the seller will receive a well deserved defect for non-performance. A seller can only get a tiny percentage (0.3% non-performance) of this defect before they will be Ebay history.
