Did you mean:

return for selling something "not as advertised"

So I got a request for return (not a problem) I have a buyer pays all shipping policy. The buyer claimed "Not as Advertised" because the Levis tag states: 34x30 and actual size is 35x30.5 according to buyer as I didn't measure, but this is not uncommon with Levis, Levis often have very different sizes on the label vs. "actual size" due to how they are supposed to fit (bellow waist, high waist...) and because jeans can and do shrink different styles shrink different amounts, sometimes not at all. When available I try and place the manufactures size chart, but with this exact model I couldn't find it, and unknowing if it shrinks or whatever I only provide actual size when it's appears way different or a less common name that people aren't as familiar with. They claimed I should have put in the actual measurements in the listing, I stated that if you are unfamiliar with a specific model you can always ask for measurements prior to purchase to confirm. I have searched other 511's (the number in question) and it is common for the size to be .5 to 2" in variations depending on which version.

So.... Did I sell something "not as advertised?" or is the buyer just looking for a free shipping situation? Still not sure what I should do when the item is returned, hold out all shipping costs, split shipping costs or return all fees?  I don't believe I did advertise incorrectly, and I really don't believe I should refund shipping fees, but since I can't check with eBay I am asking the brain trust of the eBay Community...

thanks

Since the buyer filed an INAD, accept the return and provide return shipping.

Once the jeans are returned, give buyer a full refund.

It helps to add measurements in your listings because you can't always go by the tags.

Have a great day.

Dispute the claim. If the listing shows 34x30 and the pants label says 34x30 it's exactly as advertised. If you can call Ebay and get a rep in the USA, hopefully you can get the case closed in your favor over the phone.

I think your buyer is being absolutely ridiculous and is looking for a reason so they do not pay for return shipping. They are exactly as described. I think it is rather shameful of them. However, if the already opened not as described, then I would just accept the return, block the buyer and take the matter up to eBay for return abuse.
