It gets there. Smiley Wink

USPS puts in the In Transit log entries as a kind of filler to prevent users from freaking out if too many days go by without an update. Usually it's because the item is on a truck that will take a couple of days or more to reach its destination and show an arrival scan.

Please tell me you don't mean that it's a $12,000 package... Smiley Frustrated

What was the estimated delivery date? I agree with a_c_green with that verbiage as just being a place holder for long hauls and until recently have only seen it with ground transport which I think to most of the USA is 9 business days.
What shipping method does your tracking number state?

9/28 estimated delivery. this is usps priority mail which is supposed to be 2-3 days.

For $12,000 I would have used Express Mail Overnight. Anyway, it's still too early to be worrying about it. Odds are that it will resurface in the next day or two.

How was it packaged? Priority Mail packaging, or brown box with a label? Flat Rate?

At that price point, I'd start getting worried if it didn't show up today. Does it show insured beyond the $50/100? It should also show signature required?
How big or small was the package? have you got the seller involved yet? Yes, in hindsight depending on the size I would have shipped it expedited or registered with "restricted" signature required.

The proper way to send something that valuable is to buy the extra service known as Registered Mail.  That gets special handling and has to be signed off by every person who touched the package.

I hope it was insured?  Thought the maximum insurance for USPS was way below that figure (5K), though I see Stamps insures up to 10K and not sure if Shipinsurance has a higher limit?

50$ insurance included, signature confirmation, medium flat rate box. Express is probably a better option. This package wasn’t an eBay purchase, I posted on forums anyways for advice.

Yes, USPS Priority Mail express, plus Registered Mail, which would have ensured accountability for that package every inch of the way.

How did you pay? and maybe a stupid question but how reputable is your seller?

Again hindsight is 20/20 so it is moot in this case but registered mail has a maximum of $50,000 of insurance depending on what the insured item is. I'd still go with the $6 for the adult restricted signature plus hold for pick-up.

I recently retired as a USPS bulk mail driver and have handled many register bags with $20,000+ coin collections, I had to hand delivery them every step of the way and was also bonded plus FBI background cleared to sign for them.
