My new / latest miserable experience with FedEx. I purchased something that was Guaranteed delivery on Monday Aug 05 via USPS. The seller shipped via Fedex without my knowledge. Here we are on Friday Aug 09 and still no package. This is normal with Fedex. I simply will not knowingly trade with any vendor who will ship with Fedex. Ever.

Yeah,
that's just the way it goes sometimes...………….not much to be done about it
heard on the news this morning that the river has dropped fedex,at least in the USA or something.
seems they have enough infrastructure now to pull it off, that is what they claimed

It was NOT sent FedEx Ground it was sent FEDEX smartpost. That is why it is taking forever and a day.

The seller failed to ship with the appropriate carrier. If you paid for USPS Priority then they are on the hook because they downgraded the shipping.
First, check your purchase history for this item and make SURE that it was ordered with USPS shipping, sometimes eBay will replace the buyer selected shipping with the lower rate/showed service during the checkout process, you have to watch to make sure your selected shipping method stays selected.
If your order shows USPS shipping then you have the option of opening a return request with the reason of "not as described" because the seller changed the requested shipping to a lower tier alternative. The seller will have to pay the return shipping, either via an eBay provided label or a label they provide. Return the item for a full refund.
Your other option is to leave poor feedback. If you do, make sure it's just a factual statement and doesn't include emotional response, ie "Paid for priority shipping, shipped Smartpost, arrived late, poor service." Unless they have "free returns" they will have difficulty getting that removed.

It was certainly posted USPS expedited, but shipped Fedex. I cannot understand how it can take 10 days to go 4 states across I-90 in the summer. But that is how they are here, just consistently horrible, better hope there is no snow either, it gets worse. I do NOT enjoy giving a negative review, and unfortunately, all of this will come to nothing..... Our only option here is to avoid Fedex all together.

This was NOT shipped Fedex Ground. It was shipped Fedex smart post. There is a big difference. Smart post basically is a "as space is available" system. Your item will be skipped over if there is not enough room for it. It also will be given to the Post office for delivery.
I personally will not ship items smartpost. Fedex ground is typically much more reliable.

Fedex dropped the River. Not the other way around. I was reading that Fedex said that with the deal that they had with the river, the river only counted for 1.3% of their total yearly profit yet accounted for a large quantity of packages being shipped. They stated that they had better avenues to pursue with less damage claims and higher profitability, allowing in the end better end customer value and satisfaction. Considering how poorly the river tends to pack things, I can see this.

Actually, neither you or peter-green are correct. Amazon didn't 'drop FedEx' or FedEx drop Amazon.
Amazon created their own contract with USPS based the same as FedEx SmartPost and UPS SurePost and Mail Innovations. They deliver the packages palletized by zip code to the delivering Post Offices. Very efficiently I might add we hardly ever get miss delivered packages form them. FedEx on the other hand sends SmartPost on contracted trucks, lots of miss deliveries that can not just be handed back to the driver (a recovery truck must be scheduled, which can take days). They also send 2 trucks, one for each zip code the 2 hours + from their hub. (our office combines 2 zip codes). UPS will have the regular carrier deliver the SurePost and Mail Innovations to the delivering Post Office unless there is enough of a load to warrant a separate truck. Any miss deliveries by UPS can be handed off to any of their drivers, we just call and the closest in the area is sent around to pick up.

It was Fedex that dropped Amazon because they don't see Amazon as a partner any more the see Amazon as a competitor.

Fedex SmartPost is economy shipping and can take up to 10 business days depending on location. Fedex Ground is 3-5 days depending on location. USPS Priority is the fastest but can also be the most expensive depending on the size and weight. I don't specify a carrier on my large & heavy listings because I use whatever is the fastest and cheapest depending on what I charged for shipping. Most people aren't willing to pay over double for shipping on Priority Mail. I got an order for a large designer tote bag. With the recent change to DIMM USPS costs have increased substantially. As I print my labels on Ebay USPS Priority was $40.94 and Fedex Ground was $16.51. This package was insured as well.

Yours is the type of listing I would pass on unless I needed the item very much, then I would ask what carrier. I prefer USPS , am fine with UPS, will hit my back button and look elsewhere if it's FedEx.
A tote bag? You would never hear from me, too many listed to bother asking how it will be shipped. It would definitely be a 'want' item not a 'need' item so I wouldn't take the time to ask.
Beside that you can't compare USPS Priority to FedEx Ground. USPS Retail Ground would be comparable to FedEx Ground.

I will no longer use fedex for my goods.I just ordered an item from California. It took a week to get to a station where I live. This station's hellions drug it around for another week.I still dont have it.This is an unacceptable practice in the 21st century. This service should buy some:
Amish Buggy Carriage Enclosed Mennonite Coach.Their service would probably improve with the savings on the fuel they are wasting.
