post office box pick ups

went to the post office yesterday at 4:20 . Dropped off several small packages. They pick up that box outside the post office at 4:30 according to the sticker and my years of using it. Well they picked it up at 4:15 .even though it says 4:30 .A new employee said that they clean it out whenever they have time now and not according to the posted time on the box. That made several items I shipped not show up as scanned in time by post office. Now I will loose my Top seller discount and most likely will just shut down. No discount plus my having to drive to the post office every day makes it not really worth it. My mailman picks up at 8 In the morning and many times I do not even find out someone bough the night before at 11;30 pm in California which makes it 2;30 am in my state So when I wake up I have to ship the same day as I received the money or ebay says its not within a one day handling time. Any suggestions.?

Not sure why you are assuming you will lose your discount and need to shutdown when there are other less extreme options that you can do. Call/email eBay that you are having receipt scan issues with your post office. They should be understanding of "late" deliveries with the COVID-19 situation. My post office isn't even doing receipt scans for right now (due to COVID-19), so I had to switch to another post office for right now that is doing receipt scans.

Also, I would go inside the post office and have packages scanned in rather than put them in a drop box. It may take more time, but it will ensure the scan and thus your discount without you having to fret over it.

Take a deep breath and calm down. Until the defect shows, it's a moot point. Focus on selling what you have, and if I've ever learned anything in this business, it's to never count on ANYONE to do what they say they will do if YOUR reputation is on the line. USPS is the most dysfunctional and incoherent organization in human history. That has been the case longer than this current insanity. If you want piece of mind that things will go out then you you need to adjust your cut off times, and don't wait until the last minute. You also need to stand in line and make sure they are scanned. Inconvenient? ABSOLUTELY! What you need to decide is whether the inconvenience outweighs the alternative. All businesses must constantly adapt to survive. That is especially true right  now.

1.  Read this link that was posted in your announcements on your Overview page -

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/Protecting-your-seller-performance-during-COVID-19/ba-p/...

Then you can relax.

2.  In the interest of providing top level service to your customers never rely on dropping packages in the blue drop boxes.  Don't know when your PO closes but we  have two PO in our county of 100K population, one closes at 4:30 PM (a smaller PO) and the other at 5:00 PM (the main PO) M-F  and both close at Noon on Saturday.  If yours closes at 4:30 PM dropping off at around 4:20 PM is too close to closing time.  Simply take the packages inside and have them  scanned in.  This  way you are in control of your "on time" shipments vs an USPS employee that may clear the blue box  5 minutes before you dropped off or 15 minutes.  before the posted time.  Problem solved.
