Did you mean:

phony shipping charges

Firstly, let me back away all the users that like to say "too bad! this is capitalism, and its business. People have the right to make profit. You could have read the fine print, bla bla bla"
ebay is not "hands off" anymore.

1. they are setting prices, telling you what you should set the price for

2. they are involved in the shipping and are tied to the major companies and are able to hand you the tracking info

3. they are able to track search results based on where you are ...closest to furthest

4. they are able to include shipping in that filter as well...  and the biggest part...

5. they are able to calculate how much something costs to be shipped.

So when we see "shipping costs' it is not at all a stretch to feel that the shipping is in fact, calculated based on where you are.  then you find that the shipping of the product was literally tripled just because someone wanted to post a "buy it now" at an amount to usurp others selling the same thing.
That was trickery. lets be honest. The reason the person did that, was to trick someone. That's the reason.

once again, addressing the people who feel screwing others over is fine as long as it legal to do so, I say the following, "its a free country and you could have clicked something else" is not an answer. tricking people is not ok. Its scamming. Its deliberate trickery in order to make profit.  It's no better than the Payday loan people. Sure, they have the "fine print" but they Know that they can get away with screwing people because they LAYOUT is such where one assumes everything is on the level.

It is not at all a bad assumption to think ebay is well aware of your shipping charge, and if its too much. they have the measurements, and the rates of various carriers. So if they can make an algorithm that tells you what you should charge, they most certainly can do the same for shipping.  They allow this so as to pander to trickery. there is no other reason.

this guy charges me 26 dollars, on a 20 dollar product. the Item is 8 inches, by 3 inches. Its as light as a wifi router.

Last time:
"well what would make you think that the price would be so low? thaty should have been a red flag"
No it shouldnt. this is ebay. Not the mall.
We...the people... made ebay. and we still do.  Its no different than the competitors like Offer Up.
I myself have sold things for very low just to not deal with waiting around for bids and all that, and I wanted it out my house. thousands do the same. craigslistFREE section, for example. Its not "junk"  at all. Many times its people that give things away "for parts"
ebay on the other hand, has no such free section.

So we, the people, do what we want. They the corporations do not.

thats your answer.

In conclusion, ebay needs to stop shipping gouging. Note that I didnt say "shipping and handling" Its not "handling" that I am talking about (besides, which of us dont handle the product before shipping it?)

its just shipping. By itself.

Afraid I'm not quite understanding your political rant.  If the shipping & handling isn't to your liking, pass on the item and find one that is.

If someone forced you to make that purchase with a $26 shipping..definitely report them.
