missing shipping options

I read a post where ebay was no longer showing all shipping options offered by a seller if there was a cheaper/faster alternative to another offered service. 

However, I noticed some of my listings are now ONLY showing parcel select and are not showing priority as a second shipping option. WHY? 

I choose what services to offer and my buyers have the right to choose. WHY would ebay take this away?

I have parcel first because it is cheaper. I have priority as a second option. Taking it away totally is going to cost sellers sales, especially when someone needs something fast. 

They will look at my listing, see only a slower service, and go find someone offering priority! Yes, I could put priority first, but then you get people asking for a cheaper rate.

Why do they have to meddle with MY listings? How is this beneficial to anyone?

same here , i have 4 options listed in my business policies , 1st class, priority, express usps , and fed overnight , now just shows 1st class and overnight , i called yesterday and the girl had no idea what i was talking about . makes no sense at all . when i have the default set to first class but one out of 200 may want another service faster and 95% of the faster would be priority that doesnt show anymore , yuck

Short version: eBay removes more expensive options in certain cases where the cheaper options have the same estimated delivery date. Sellers point out that in some cases those delivery estimate dates may be padded, and in any event, many buyers would prefer to have the express options available even if the estimated delivery dates are the same.

then this makes no sense because if you offer first class and priority , and priority cost more , it will also have a quicker delivery date ...duh!!! there is no way it needs to be removed as being more expensive with the same delivery date . been on ebay 21 years ship over 8000 packages a year  offer guaranteed delivery and have same day shipping with late cutoff and ship 6 days a week , got a pretty good handle on shipping

@eburtonlab yes, but these are two different options with different shipping speeds. Someone in another group called ebay and they said it was a "glitch".

If the glitch is causing the two methods to appear to have the same estimated delivery date, then that might explain why one method is not shown, particularly if it is the more expensive option that disappears.

This could be an unintended side effect of the new "hide alternative shipping methods" programming. Or possibly some other problem entirely.

Just got off the line with eBay for this same issue.

Buyers want my second shipping option, but it's not showing up in the listing, despite being in my shipping business policy. Then, during check out, the second option does not show up. 

I think this is the unintended glitch from the eBay practice of only showing one shipping option to make things easier for buyers. My main question: Why allow and encourage sellers to give extra shipping options if eBay is only going to show one?

In my case, the two options were 2 types of priority mail (poly bag and box) and that's why I think eBay just picked the cheaper one. But my buyer wants a box. 

My eBay rep checked my listing, said I was right, it does seem related to the eBay feature & during checkout the second option does not appear. She took the item number for my live listing and an item number from a sold listing, the one other time I know this happened before. I am tempted to remove the $10 option since my buyer wants the $13 option but my rep said not to revise my listing, so the tech team can track the error. The rep also said tech would look at all my listings to check for the error-she did not promise they would fix it though 😉

(Update-I frankensteined a box and made weight! Phew, so glad I don't have to invoice the buyer.)
