Several months ago, I bought a pair of solar eclipse glasses. The listing stated they were being shipped in the U.S. Turns out they were shipped from China.
They arrived a day late and we're useless to me as the solar eclipse
ended. The seller did give me a full refund, so all was not lost.
Be careful whom you buy from.

That seller is a drop shipper they sell it to you at a higher price than they buy it from China. Request to cancel the order. Call eBay and state they are drop shipping and have lied about item location.

I have dealt with that in the past. Called eBay to complain and they said there was nothing they could do to help. Just have to wait for it to arrive. It is against eBay policy to misrepresent shipping location supposedly. They won't do anything to these China sellers though because they have hundreds of thousands of feedback and an equal number of alt accounts. They only screw buyers if they know we are sellers primarily 😐
Ebay doesn't do anything about this because no one bothers to complain the right way. Complaining to Customer Service on something like this is useless as I doubt any CS reps have any training on this nor have it in their online "script" to follow.
So when this happens one needs to use the Report Seller function. Use the reason that seller violated eBay policy: Item location not as stated in the listing.

Just for others reading this thread - The EDD IS part of the listing and the blues have indicated that missing the EDD IS a valid reason for a NAD claim. This situation lex-talon describes is exactly why missing the EDD is NAD - the item is useless for the purpose buyer intended. So any purchase could have a key time element to it and a buyer might rely on the EDD t o get the item one time or seek out other options.

Leave a negative stating item from China so other buyers who check feedback will see. Do report the seller as stated above. You can contact the seller as well and tell them you don't want the item as its coming from China. Item location misrepresentation should be banned on eBay.
