I need to refund a buyer but I dont see anything in the new managed payment section
so how do I do a refund
it used to be so much easier with it going into paypal

Go into your orders
Then to your either paid
Or paid and shipped on the left hand side
Find the item you are looking for
On the left is an arrow click
Find refund. Click
Enter the amount you are refunding.
Send

Refunds are a snap in MP, as Grandma noted. Use the drop-down menu to the left of the order, choose 'Send Refund', enter the amount, confirm and submit. Good luck.

how would I do a return with the managed payment
It just occurred to me that we responded to your post's mention of a 'refund' in MP... I've re-read your title.
If you're refunding through a Return case , you'll issue the refund upon return... in the case itself. When the item is returned, you'll have the ability to see the refund and then confirm it. If yours is a Return refund... wait until the item is back to you. Sorry if I confused. Good luck.

I am doing a refund since the item arrived broken--and I dont want it retuned
does the buyer have to open a case--
also where do I find the orders--I looked under sold items but didnt see anything there

Have the buyer file a Returns Request. Then you can Refund without requiring return of the item. This way, your FVF will be credited. I don;t think the FVF would be credited if you used the Send Refund in Managed Payments.
The previous responders were referring going to
Seller Hub > Orders > Paid & shipped and clicking on the down-arrow, then Send Refund.
