Disclaimer - I'm a buyer only, so offering this until a seasoned seller steps in... Have you researched doing this?

I'm not sure you CAN make your own labels, the system is set up so that you buy a label, it prints, the information is automatically uploaded to the dashboard for your ( and the buyers) access and use. Tracking info also associated with this system is also integrated.

If it is even possible to do so ( and it may be) , making your own labels might actually create more work for you in the long run.

You don't have to use ebay's labels. You can get your shipping labels direct from USPS, UPS FEDex or where ever you want. Just make sure you upload tracking to each one of your sales.

eBay offers Shipping Services as a convivence but you can use anyone who sell the service you are offering. Other sellers of shipping services offer the same rates and sometimes they cheaper than eBay.

I mostly use eBay because it is very convent. Sometimes I use Cubic Shipping that eBay does not offer so I use another Shipping Company. Also for something that needs additional Insurance I use a different company where the Insurance is way cheaper.

I would still be careful to upload data on tracking and the extra work that self-printing labels will incur. Manually doing so/ forgetting to do so/ customer wrath due to missing shipping info may get old fast.

Some other sellers of shipping services are intergraded with eBay. They will extract the information off eBay so you should have no typing errors. You just need to make sure you have all the correct information about the package size and weight, same like with eBay. They will also automatically upload Tracking Information to eBay. Just make sure to use a company that is fully intergraded with eBay.
