ebay's calculated shipping grossly undercharged the buyer

I have sold the exact item (collectible trading cards) 10-15 times and entered the shipping information exactly the same. Everytime ebay charges the buyer more for shipping than what it charges me because of the ebay discount and I'm able to make a little off of that.

But this time when selecting calculated shipping I overestimated the size of package and the weight, as usual, just to be careful. I ship with USPS first class and when the item sold ebay only charged the customer $0.71 and then asked me to pay $3 to print the shipping label based off the exact same metrics I had entered when I listed the item! What's up with that?

That’s weird the front page shows 4.30 for shipping. Did you list with an app. There is a problem not being able to choose 1st class package.

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

Re: ebay's calculated shipping grossly undercharged the buyer

Very strange; the top of the listing shows the postage cost for a FIrst Class package, yet the Shipping and payments" tab shows the prices for a first class letter. I think this must be some glitch related to the implementation of eBay's new tracked letter envelope.

Re: ebay's calculated shipping grossly undercharged the buyer

The shipping tab shows that there are two options for shipping..first class and ebay's standard envelope so the buyer probably chose the standard envelope option.  Perhaps ebay is adding on that choice even if the sellers don't offer it?   It's odd that the shipping label didn't default to that method.
