ebay label does not show weight or dimension-postmaster says it should?

My postmaster at our small town USPS is telling me that my Ebay labels have to have the weight and dimensions listed. I told her that is the label Ebay sends me for my USPS package, it is there label and I just affix it to my package and will not alter it. We had a heated discussion about this. I thought that all they should do is scan the label and send it on.  Am I wrong?

Hi @redbarns

When you create the listing do you use the Calculated setting AND do you put the Weight and Dimensions in for the package size?  Then when an item sells do you make sure the Weight and Package dimensions are updated if required BEFORE printing the label.

Your local Postal clerk is wrong, advise them that if there are issues then you will be charged or credited via the APV system between eBay and USPS.  The labels note whether or not Surcharges apply based on what you have provided.

One of our postal clerks will measure large packages with a tape measure they have, other clerks tend to just scan the packages in and let the automated system pick up any errors.  But none of them write anything down.

If you are "small town" you likely do not have a "Postmaster".  Likely just an employee that works the office that is in actuality the responsibility of a larger Post Office where there is a "Postmaster" assigned and may be responsible for more than one office.

You need to not have "heated discussions" with the current employee but need to determine if they are indeed the "Postmaster".

You need to politely determine who is actually in charge and discuss the issue with them. If that person is the "Postmaster" then you need to elevate your issue to "Consumer Affairs" so that the individual can be educated.

For "online" purchased labels the weight will generally be displayed. It is rare to have "dimensions" displayed.

If the package is going at "cubic" rate it will not have the weight, but will have the dimension displayed such a .2 cubic
