eBay's "Breaking Records ..." thread ...

I missed the part in eBay's latest announcement about them not adjusting for shipping delays caused by Covid-19 and doing nothing about adjusting Buyer expectations for on time delivery ... they were to push Estimated deliveries out by at least 7 days ... I got my 2 INR claim in a few weeks after 5 years and THOUSANDS of shipments with no late delivery claims from Buyers.  The 2 claims go along with numerous messages from Buyers asking where their package is???

The other part I missed was how eBay is just shoving Selling accounts in to Managed Payments, skipping the Registration deadline procedure and subsequent Activation once an account is confirmed to be connected ... nope, they are just pushing them in with NO way to complete Registration to get paid ... many, many threads here on that, Sellers NOT getting paid ...

I just read the thread..you know what I hate most about ebay authentic program watches.Whenever you sell one it is marked down as being in the GSP program, only becasue of the special shipping address.

I have never used the GSP and for it to be mentioned with a sale is just plain stupid.

how about the programmers insert some code for ebay authentic instead of calling it the GSP after a sale.

I will  bet they did not tell you about all the $20 watches being certified, ebay is raking it in with that one for sure!

I thought it was very interesting that announcement was posted about an hour after the boards started blowing up about the payout problems, and yet still no announcement posted there even acknowledging this major meltdown let alone communicating with sellers about what is going on.

Yes, I know that was most likely a pre-scheduled post, but it doesn't reflect well on them at all to be crowing about record breaking sales on Cyber Monday when many sellers didn't get paid today for all those sales.

I guess eBay doesn't want to talk about other things they are "breaking". 🙄

@valueaddedresource  It is only a matter of time before their recent bad decisions catch up to them ... the speed at which info flies around smart phones, social media, the internet, etc. eBay is flirting with losing "Business Partners" (their term) from a bad reputation.   Letting people sell but NOT paying them ... something seriously wrong with THAT picture.

I am poised to respond to Sellers who post here and were shoved into the program with a solution to let them quickly get paid ... a number of us have asked for the solution ... have NOT been told how to help ...

I missed the same parts in the announcement as you.

My tracking uploaded and validated is wrong, showing 4 items (1 order) never getting a scan, but when I check USPS the package is moving, plus I have the acceptance receipt from drop off at the PO.  Others are reporting the same.  My weekly payout yesterday  looks like it occurred, it should hit my bank this afternoon, but on the Payments page it says my next payout is today, Dec 2nd.

On a positive note, promotion manager  worked perfectly for me over Cyber 5, compared to last years total malfunction, and I finished the month up 68%.   The weather is beautiful here in SE Arizona and I am going to take my RV out and enjoy a long weekend this coming weekend.

Perhaps the surge in sales on Cyber Monday, most of which would have been scheduled for payout last night, is part of the reason the MP system sh!t the bed. Major overload? If true, that doesn't bode well for Christmas time.

@mcdougle4248   eBay and USPS's API software is garbage right now ... I show the same thing, movement on USPS site and little on eBay ... it is lagging behind.  I am NOW sending this message after every sale:

Dear _______

First and foremost, thank you for the purchase and your business.  Second, you will have to disregard eBay’s estimated delivery date. They are out of touch with what is actually happening with carriers.  Normally I don’t message like this after a sale but with all the late deliveries from USPS under staffing (from Covid-19) and increased volume from Holiday shopping deliveries are running behind in many areas.  Numerous customers have messaged me about this issue in the last few weeks.  The situation is out of Sellers’ control and out of eBay’s control and we are doing our best to deal with it.  Therefore, please do not hesitate to message me if your items runs late so I am aware of it.

Best regards,

Mr. L"

It is ALL factual ... eBay is NOT helping to adjust Buyer expectations in the current delay ridden carrier industry ... I brought this up on a thread and looped three of the Support team in on it ... I got the old "We're keeping an eye on it "  NON response ... I want ACTION on it not a peanut gallery ...

@wrong66  - you may be right.

While the dollar figures may have been higher, I don't imagine the number of payouts to be processed would have been. Programmatically I'm not sure how much of a difference larger totals should really make as from a technical standpoint I don't think it would be much more resource intensive to move $1,000 than $100 but I have no insight into the actual inner workings of MP so it is certainly possible.

Definitely agree with you that if so, it does not bode well for the future both in terms of the holidays and in terms of the pace at which new sellers are being added in to MP.

You're the first I've heard getting paid this morning. Good for you. You might consider hitting a casino today.

I am not sending a message with every sale, but I am keeping a close eye on the movement of packages and messaging buyers when I see delays or packages taking a scenic route.   I am a small seller, so I can do this.  Sellers that send out hundreds or more packages a day must be pulling out their hair.

Just to clarify - @1grandmashope_1 are you talking about the payout that should have been processed this morning or talking about getting money in your bank account today? They may not necessarily be the same thing depending on how long your bank takes to show incoming ACH payments.

We received money in the bank today - from yesterday's payout.  Today's payout shows as declined like just about everyone else is reporting.
