eBay return shipping label

Hi all! Quick question or two.

Does eBay only use a First Class Return label?

What if the item weighs 88lbs, over the 70 limit?

Thanks for your time.

Why?

Maybe he wants to make sure he is not charged for an overweight returned package?

Re: eBay return shipping label

And if the package is really only 17 lbs then obviously it isn't all of the stuff - for my own sake i'd like to have a witness to that. The whole situation has been weird and has sketched me out, i'd rather be safe than sorry.

Also, it requires a signature, and i'm not home from 8-5 when mail gets delivered, so it'd likely end up held at the post office anyway.

it has already made its way from NY to NJ. It is also somehow expected to arrive at my house tomorrow by 8PM, which is 3 days to go from NY to MT. Seems unreal.

NY - New York

NJ - New Jersey

MT - Montana, or Mountain Time

@camstaf-0

So why is it being delivered to Denver CO?

Re: eBay return shipping label

Denver is the next hub it stops at - it'll go there, then to Billings MT, then to my local PO. This is what the guy I talked to locally explained anyway. But he said it should be here by Wednesday, so i'll be able to hopefully conclude this thread then.

EDIT: I realize after rereading some of the thread that i've repeated some information - sorry for this, lol.

Re: eBay return shipping label

Looks like you will see two "destination" facilities --

that are both there in your "local area" but --

over 500 miles apart from each other:

Arrived at USPS Destination Facility BILLINGS, MT 59101
Arrived at USPS Destination Facility DENVER, CO 80217

Re: eBay return shipping label

Well it made it. I picked it up for the PO today during my lunch break, I had a chance to open it up during lunch and it looks like everything is intact, but I am questioning what he sent back to me.

The package weight in at UPS at 90.22 lbs and somehow they still decided to ship it. I didn't get charged any extra postage, so i paid $52 to ship a 90lb package from New York, New York to Butte, Montana. Put that in the UPS calculator with dimensions 36x12x18 and you'll see why i'm amazed.

Thanks for all your help and input, if you have any questions about anything i'll still check on this for a bit.

Re: eBay return shipping label

Jeez I should start proofreading - the package weighed in at USPS at 90.22 lbs.

Why are you questioning what was sent back if everything is intact?

Ok so a eBay return label of 90lbs can be sent back through Usps?

I need to reread both threads.

Re: eBay return shipping label

I'm questioning because the angle the subwoofer was mounted into the box - when I installed them the logos were flush-straight, and now the broken one is off about 30 degrees, and it looks much more "aged" than its pair.

And it would seem so - eBay generated me a USPS return label - I have no idea what eBay stated the weights/dimensions were, it didn't ask for any. The PO weighed it at >90 lbs and still shipped it. So in this case, yes.

Hard to say if this is an anomaly or not.

Re: eBay return shipping label

n service is a contract between ebay and usps and is not based on size/weight but the contact terms(which we have no access to)

This is a user to user board not eBay employees.

Re: eBay return shipping label

So then it’s not what you sent them. They gave you an old broken one back?

I believe so. I am looking into how I am going to prove this, which is where it may get tough.

Re: eBay return shipping label

eBay doesn't care what they sent back to you.

Re: eBay return shipping label

Ask him if he mistakenly sent the wrong one back on accident. Don’t provide detailed details. He may something in your favor. Just be smart about it.
May work.
Sam is probably right though, but that’s just a suggestion.

No. The USPS weight limit is 70lbs. eBay return labels get no special exemption. For some reason this package got through at 90lbs
