Did you mean:

eBay refuses return with no explanation

Hi,

1) I was sent a faulty item that was also missing pieces clearly shown in the picture. Seller said "does not accept returns"

2) I asked anyway and they accepted and I shipped back.

3) a few days later I got a message that said seller asked eBay to "step in" and assist the situation and I needed to wait 2-3 days.

4) today I got a message that simply said eBay refuses refund FINAL DECISION.

There was no explanation. Nothing from seller. I paid $300 for a lens that did not work and was missing pieces. What do I do?

Re: eBay refuses return with no explanation

Did you open a 'return' with the reason of 'not as described, or missing pieces' etc. within 30 DAYS of receiving? Did you open a case with Paypal or Credit at same time?

Have you had numerous 'returns' lately?

Do you sell this same type product?

I can't imagine this scenario. Did you open a Not As Described claim? What are we missing?

"that was also missing pieces clearly shown in the picture"

I am honestly just curious; if the above statement is true, why did you buy it to begin with?

I think the OP meant that when the item arrived, it was missing pieces that were shown in the listing picture, not that the picture showed that pieces were missing.

Re: eBay refuses return with no explanation

Contact eBay and explain that the item was missing pieces. Ask for them to file an appeal for you. If that doesn't work, file with paypal. If you didn't pay with paypal or paypal doesn't side with you, contact your credit card/bank to dispute the payment. Save the tracking number from the return, as paypal/your bank will likely need it.

Re: eBay refuses return with no explanation

Did the OP possibly file an "Item Not Received" case, rather than a "Not As Described" case?

If the OP filed an "Item Not Received" case, the seller can simply point eBay to the USPS Tracking Confirmation number as a "received" item, whether the item was complete or not, and eBay will most likely close the case against the buyer.  Unfortunately, this happens a lot.

I'm not sure, in that case, if the buyer can then open a "NAD" case against the seller, if a previous "INR" case of the same order has been closed.
