In many places such as apartment buildings with concierge/doorman, townhouse complexes with a management office, freight forwarders, buildings with mailrooms, etc USPS will deliver to the building's mail "agent" and this has always registered a "delivered" status on the eBay orders page.

That is it used to until about 2-1/2 months ago. Now those orders are stuck as "shipped" as the system is not recognizing that packages were delivered. When you click the tracking pop-up it's stuck at "it's on its way to the buyer" and "was scheduled" for delivery on X date.

I've reported the issue multiple times, but I'm wondering if others here are seeing the same problem?

Hey devon@ebay - can you get the shipping and/or seller hub teams working on this? If you need order numbers or screenshots to reference I can send an e-mail.

Hi devon@ebay - I e-mailed that info to you in December but I just re-sent it. If the shipping team wants to contact me directly you can give them my seller ID / e-mail and I'm happy to provide all the info they need so you don't need to keep acting as a go-between. 🙂

@wastingtime101 Thank you and I just got the email! I will see if that would work easier for the Shipping Team as far as contacting yourself directly.

Dealing with this exact issue right now. Only difference is, the package had Signature confirmation on it. USPS website shows delivered, and proof of delivery shows a signature. Ebay is still showing it waiting to be delivered. This will turn into a case against me in a few days time. Will seller protection cover this?

Currently dealing with this same issue of eBay not updating the system to show as delivered. I have contacted eBay chat regarding this and none of chat agents have the ability to manually correct the system to reflect that it has been delivered. Also, this was a high priced item and they stated that my funds are on hold until Jan 29th to ensure that there are no issues with the seller not satisfied with the item. The first eBay chat agent I talked to told me that the system would reflect delivered in 24 hours. The second eBay chat agent I spoke with stated it would be 48 before the system updates to reflect as delivered. Also stating that my funds were on hold to ensure the seller didn't have any issues with the items. I have spoken with the buyer who confirmed delivery and ensured me that he had no issues with his purchase so he would not be trying to return the item. The buyer also stated he would message eBay to tell them the same thing so that the funds can be released to me and he left positive feedback. eBay is still not updating this to show delivered nor is the customer service representative taking into account what the buyer has stated in our messages and they will not release the funds. Is there anyone that I can speak with, preferably a US rep, to get this fixed?

Hi, devon@ebay same thing happened to me recently. And the buyer reached out to eBay saying the item was never delivered, and of course, I lost, and I can also bet that this was a scam, gotta love society. The tracking number is 9361289696017282941953. I also input the tracking in the case and lost. This really needs to be addressed because its happening on other tracking numbers. thank you. please reach out with any questions.

I posted about this a few months ago. I called the concierge at that time and was told it would be considered “delivered”. This is now happening when a buyer uses a freight forwarding company as these companies don’t even hide that fact anymore as it’s now clearly visible on the shipping label and eBay stopped pretending that the person at the freight address could be an employee receiving their mail (lol).

So in closing, “delivered to agent for final delivery” is considered delivered. The package has indeed made its route to the destination on the label. There is now an additional delivery which must take place afterwards to a completely different country utilizing a different shipping label that will be added by the freight company that corresponds with the code issued on the buyers label.

I'm seeing the same issue with one of my shipments. I contacted the buyer to let them know, but haven't heard back yet.

I'm curious about how this is supposed to work. If the buyer never picks up the package, will the "agent" return it to me? Conversely, if the buyer does pick it up, how does USPS get this information? I'm guessing that they never do and there really isn't a way that the status could ever change to Delivered.

I have the same problem and now buyers are starting to try to take advantage and open cases for non-receipt. I hope they fix this, it's crazy if eBay doesn't understand that "Delivered to Agent For Final Delivery" is the same thing as "Delivered". Delivered to Agent is what the tracking results normally say when it's delivered to a courier service/reshipper, the courier service is the "Agent" in question.

Also, when you click the tracking number on eBay the pop-up tracking info page actually says "Waiting to Be Picked Up". NO! Nothing is waiting to be picked up and if it was the latest tracking entry would say "Available For Pickup".

eBay is interpreting the tracking results wrong.

In closing, every single package that has went to any freight company that forwards packages no longer use “delivered”, they all end their tracking at “delivered to agent for final delivery”. This seems to be the case starting at some point in November.

At the same time, there’s no more ambiguity as to where these packages are traveling as the forwarding info is much more obvious on the original labels AND eBay agents are no longer suggesting the packages might be sent to that location for other reasons.

Here is one from me as well, TRACKING #9400108205496305764498 This person lives in FRANCE, I just checked the tracking for the first time in a couple of weeks and this package is bouncing around all over the country. Initially it was sent and DELIVERED to the buyers Freight Forwarder which they inputted as a verified address in Jamaica Plains NY. Which should have showed DELIVERED TO AGENT! This means I am no longer responsible for the package. Now this package is showing in Texas last out for delivery on December 28, 2022! I hope I am not responsible for this buyer's FREIGHT FORWARDER.

I just reported the same issue as the OP and I just checked tracking on the USPS website and they are showing ITEM DELIVERED TO AGENT although ebay has not updated this information, going on 3 weeks now.
