How many sellers believe the return policy should be revised for selling preowned or used items ? Personally I would like it removed from the preowned or used category. But I am sure that is wishful thinking. It should be in place for lost or damaged or missing pieces. However the "Item not as described" option should be changed or revised. Allowing buyers to lie or misuse this option is costing sellers and destroying business. In my opinion it should be removed from the preowned or used category. Something needs to be done. Every return I have had is either the buyer did not read the description, pulling a scam, new to eBay and uses the "Item not as described" option for a return. Any opinions on how to change or revise this. Vote on this next board meeting eBay !!!!

eBay did change the policy last Fall. As a Top Rated Seller, if you offer 30-day or longer returns, you now can report a buyer for abusing the Money Back Guarantee, and you get reimbursed (up to $6) for the return shipping ... and, if it is returned in a deteriorated condition, then you can withhold up to 50% of the item's refund (according to the extent of the damage).
My cases of buyer abuse have plummeted since this policy went in affect.
And, I imagine that most serial abusive buyers know to now stay away from TRS sellers who offer returns because we have this power.

My concern is the return policy for old, used or preowned items. Not for new or like new items that you sell. If I was a department store selling new items then yes there should be a return policy. Is there a return policy at the pawn shop, garage sale, yard sale, flea market, etc. ? As for changes to TRS not all sellers have that option. I have tried free returns, 30 day returns, 14 day returns and no returns with the same results. The change needs to be with the "Item not as described" option buyers have for returns on old, used or preowned items.

I understand that, and I agree that eBay should have some sort of "All Sales Final" sales channel.

Any seller can activate that "power" by offering free returns ... TRS just gets to also have it with 30-day buyer paid returns.
