Hello
I need help regards to my order
I was tracking an ebay item - UPS
During the track it stated
that merchandise missing
or Damage to package contents was reported.
We will notify the sender.
I contacted the seller and
showed a screenshot of the tracking.
I suggested that perhaps UPS be contacted
for a delivery intercept & to "return to sender".
I hope you understand that
I do not want to receive a damaged item.
I would rather receive ordered item
which is full working order.
In my opinion, there no point of receiving
if it was stated at the tracking that
either merchandise was missing or damage.
What is going to happen now?
Thank you for your help

Hi,
thanks for the advice.
However it will be complicated.
I am a buyer. But this item is to be sent to a recepient
1. it is to be sent to an office address.
2. Office will then sent it to that recipient
3. The recipient is working in a cruise line
that is sailing around USA, Caribbean & Canada
Hence, the request from the seller to
contact their shipper - UPS for a
a delivery intercept & to "return to sender".
Is there any other solution?
Thanks in advance for the help.

No, it isn't complicated.
As soon as you receive it, file a SNAD complaint with eBay.
The seller will be required to provide a return shipping label.
As soon as it is returned to the seller, you will get a full refund.

Hi sam9876
Thanks for the suggested solution.
I do not wish for a refund.
It may not be complicated if I am personally receiving it.
But it is bought for someone else.
I am a buyer . But this item
is to be sent to a recipient [NOT me]
1. Ebay Item is to be sent at the office .
2. Then that Office will then sent Ebay item to
to that recipient's ship [M/S Norwegian Gem]
3. The recipient is working in a luxury ship
that is sailing around USA, Caribbean & Canada
I have contacted the seller &
expressed my interest to still have the Ebay item
but the request to please contact their shipper - UPS for a
a delivery intercept & to "return to sender".
After that I HOPE the Seller would send
a new well packed Ebay item
to the shipping address [while the ship is still in United States]
Do you think the seller will agree with my request?
Thanks again to all who are giving possible solutions 🙂

"Do you think the seller will agree with my request?"
No.
That is why you will need to file a SNAD complaint.

I just noticed that the tracking information shows that the package was supposed to be delivered to you on July 30.
Was it delivered?

Regards,
When the "office" receives it, you need to file the SNAD.
If you are not in the "office", you need to inform someone who is that the item is going to need to be returned.
You will need to tell your client what happened. Your client is NOT going to be able to get the item before the ship sails, even if the seller ships a replacement.
YOU are the buyer.
YOU need to file the claim.
YOU will need to return it (or arrange for it to be returned), from the address on the order, if the seller requests it.
It doesn't matter if you are the receiver, or if you had it shipped to a secondary address. And that the final recipient is on a cruise ship has no bearing whatsoever.
You and the seller are the parties to the MBG, nobody else.

No.
Thankfully that damaged item
has not been delivered.
[and hope it never will... 😞 ]
As you can see at the screenshot..
Out For Delivery
That means the item/shipment
has reached the local UPS facility
responsible for delivery.

Since you have written proof from the carrier that the item is damaged, you can refuse the package and file an item not received case. You don’t have to wait for the package to be delivered & then open a return request. And if the latest delivery estimate has passed you can file an item not received case now since it hasn’t been delivered

Hi Thanks for clarifiying this for me
It is a sad truth , isn't it 😞
Because it became a damaged item
[NOT a fault of the seller] :
1. I do not want to inconvenience
the recipient of the item
2. It is not a residence.
I thought I could contact the Ebay Seller [which I did]
for a delivery intercept to "return to sender".
[while the item is still on route]
...still waiting for Seller's reply.
Because I do not wish a refund ,
I thought an Ebay seller could resend
/ or ship a replacement.
Anyway, I have sent an informed both to
the Ebay seller and the recipient.
Thanks again for all those helpful solutions
and patient explanations

"No.
Thankfully that damaged item
has not been delivered."
File an INR complaint with eBay and you will be given a full refund.

Jen, she isn't the one receiving the item. Some one else is.
She is the buyer though. She is the one who files the INR. The receiver can’t file because the receiver isn’t the buyer 😉
