creating shipping label vs First scan from carrier

Why can't ebay change over to using the first scan from a carrier as proof item has shipped ?  This creating a shipping label does nothing to prove your Item has shipped.  It could be setting at a place for a week until the seller takes it to a carrier or has a pickup.  Some sellers mark created label to show as shipped so you cannot cancel the order, even if they don't ship it for days and are still in possession of the item.  It doesn't make it fair for the buyer

As a seller...when I have maybe 25+ orders or more we sellers have to mark 'create label' or ship before we do.

A lot of sellers here are not from big store outlets(a few might be)...Some sellers do have an outside life.

Items might not be picked up by the carrier until Monday after 9AM - Friday before 5PM...no holidays or weekends usually.

Extreme weather can create almost anything where items are not scanned at the beginning.

I have never known a seller who I made purchases from holding onto the item for a week.

But then again, I usually don't buy from China.

And some items never get scanned at the beginning of shipping...USPS, UPS, Fedex and so.

Seller can also ship it the same day as they buy the shipping label and could be a few days before it gets any scan from the carrier.

Don't see what makes it unfair to the buyer, Ebay gives you an estimated delivery date and that's all you need to worry about.

Have a great day.
