Hello, just had a buyer purchase an item but made a mistake and selected local pickup.

He wants it shipped. How do I correct this?

You would need to cancel the transaction with problem with buyers address, then relist it with shipping option.

How often do you get "local pickup" buyers for your items? 

IMO, unless an item is huge (like a refrigerator or large tv), most buyers need items shipped as they won't be in your vicinity. 

If you list without offering local pickup, buyers won't make this mistake. 

And if you happen to get the rare local buyer, you can always add the option for that buyer and listing.
