buyer pays for shipping again

I recently had a buyer that does not have her full mailing address listed (she lives in an apartment complex and does not have apartment number in her address). The item I shipped was returned to me and the buyer still wants it. She admits that her full address is not listed so I am wondering how do I charge for shipping and send it to her again.

Re: buyer pays for shipping again

She has your name and email address and sends you shipping $ via PayPal.

Re: buyer pays for shipping again

Create a new listing with an .01 buy it now price, with whatever $ amount you need for shipping; and be sure to price it 15% higher than you need to cover Final Value Fees.

Once that listing is created, give the buyer the 12 digit number. Don't make the listing 'live' until you communicate to the buyer and they are on line and ready to buy immediately (before someone else does).

Or, you can just relist it and then refund the difference back to the buyer. I would still communicate and be sure they are on line and ready to buy in either scenario.

^ I'd do this but in reverse. I would get her (buyer's) PP address and invoice her for the shipping.

Re: buyer pays for shipping again

The easiest way is to refund the item price back to the buyer and relist.

If the buyer wants the item they can rebuy with the correct address.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure that her/his address is correctly listed.  You shipped the item to the address provided by the buyer and, due to the buyer providing an incomplete (making it incorrect) address, the item was returned to you.  If this buyer wants the item then this buyer should provide the funds, in advance, with which to ship the item to her for a second time.  So, if you choose to ship the item to this buyer for a second time, make her send the funds before you ship.

Since this buyer is not reliable, it might be beneficial to use signed-for shipping so that you know that the item was delivered and she cannot subsequently claim not to have received it.

I must admit that, if I were a seller (I am a buyer, not a seller), I would not trust this buyer as she should know her own address:  if she wanted to receive an item that she purchased, she should check the listed shipping address when she makes the purchase as it is her responsibility to provide an accurate address to the seller so that she can receive the purchased item.  Although it might sound odd for a buyer to state this, if I were the seller, I would refund the price of the item only (as you received the item), not the shipping fee as that has been used already, and block her from making future purchases — doing so  would terminate this transaction and prevent future transactions with an irresponsible buyer.

It is reading about situations like this that makes me unwilling to sell on ebay or any other site online.
