Rough start on my end, not even the supervisor was aware of this. The frontline employee was trying to argue about how I am wrong. Wouldn't even let me explain how this is a brand new service.
It's going to be a rough start. Neither knew how tracking works, is anybody able to provide insight into this? Best guess was sorting machine will auto kick it into gear. But then how is it confirmed delivered. Supervisor said nowhere to scan in that regard.
Fun times, curious of others experiences.

I don't think eBay has ever allowed a seller to buy regular first class stamps on its platform. First Class Package service, however, is available through eBay.

I can confirm it will not scan when dropping off. Employee tried everything including the small barcode described, nothing worked.
It has to be the above method described when it goes through the sort machines.

Yes, for anything under $20 it's the third option for me under USPS services.

That is correct, I was not able to buy USPS First Class Mail from eBat, but I had an option to select that method previously. Not any more.

@andjhr1, your screenshot shows the dimensions of your package are 7.00" x 4.00" x 4.00", and weight of 1 oz. That package isn't eligible to be sent as a First Class letter for $0.55. Letters have to be less than 1/4" thick.
I don't know whether it was ever possible to purchase First Class letter postage on eBay or not (as another responder suggested). But that package isn't eligible for it because it's too large and thick.

I saw that when I posted, but it is the same thing. Here you go...

You need to scroll down farther. eBay categorizes First Class as "Standard," not Economy or Expedited.

one inch is too thick for FC letter postage! It needs to be less than 1/4-in.
https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm100/tips-measure-letters.htm
So in that last thickness box you can place fractional inches.
er,not that that will get the FC letters listed or anything🙂

The eBay listing form does not allow for fractional or decimal dimensions.
It also doesn't look at dimensions except to calculate dimensional or oversize prices.
The listing form shows the new trackable first class option regardless of the weight or dimensions entered. But you won't find it if you look for it under "expedited" or "Economy" shipping services.

OK, fair enough. But the OP posted a screen shot of the Shipping Calculator which DOES allow one to enter fractional inches of thickness in the thickness box.

And you still do not have USPS First Class Mail , so... This is not what I was trying to find help with. This went out of topic totally.

I'm pretty sure the ebay standard envelope option is at the bottom of the shipping options. Scroll down fully. Also the weight and dimensions have to be within the requirements or that option doesn't show up. Where shipping pricing is shown if ebay is NOT one of the options, this method of shipping does not apply. It also doesn't apply for shipping to Puerto Rico.. Hope this helps
I'm currently trying to use this shipping method and am having zero luck. The usps reps were not aware of this new shipping method when I went to ship an item. The label given from ebay has no bar code. So there is no way for USPS to scan the item. So if you give them the item to ship you have no proof the item was given to usps. There is a tracking # provided from ebay on the label but it is NOT a usps tracking #. There is also a QC code on the label but when usps scans it, it not recognized...I've called ebay several times and none of the reps could help or had any knowledge of how this new shipping way works. Not sure what to do at this point..

I was able to list a postcard with this shipping option!

i've been researching this, but sadly can't participate yet... most of my applicable items are amiibo trading cards. i've been trying to send a bat signal to ebay HQ to include us lol

Just so everyone knows, there IS a tracking number printed on the envelope itself right above the return address. Hope this helps.
