Wrong item sent

Hi. What to do? I pay for interactive toy 15 usd. Got the item, but item is totally wrong, seller send the wrong item.

Buyer pays return shipping. Now, if seller ask me to return the wrong item, i will need to spend at least 7-8usd for tracking shippment, 50% of toy value.

How in the world of ebay this could happend? I did nothing wrong and i need to pay something.

If the seller is out of stock or something, he could send (on purpose) any item and get away of it easy.

Any advice, thank you.

Wrong item sent

You do not pay for return shipping when a seller makes a mistake, no matter what they might have in their ad or communicate to you via messaging.

If the seller sent you the wrong item, then the eBay Money Back Guarantee forces the seller to fully refund your purchase price and any shipping you paid ... and, if the seller wants the item back, then the seller must pay for return shipping.

How to proceed:

  1. Go to my eBay >> Purchase History and find the item you purchase.
  2. Select "Return this item", with the return reason "Wrong Item Sent" ... then any details you want to provide.  Follow instructions.
  3. If the seller is domestic, a return label will be provided for you ... it is paid for by the seller.  If the seller is international, then inform the seller of the cost of the return label that includes tracking to their destination, by sending them a message with this cost .... the international seller will need to send money to your PayPal account OR provide you with a return label within a few days.  If they don't escalate the claim to eBay customer service to get refunded.
  4. If the seller refunds your money before you ship the item, then you do not need to return it.  Otherwise, wait until the returned item arrives back to your seller, and you should be refunded after that.
