If a buyer opens up a case requesting a refund but it is due to a package being lost by USPS, will I get a defect if they do not escalate within 30 days and the case just closes without resolution? I called USPS and they are investigating. I have tried contacting the buyer(through the ebay case messages) and they have not responded to my last three updates, for about two weeks now.

1. Here is a link to the eBay MBG (Money Back Guarantee)
2. If the shipment is consider lost by the USPS you should refund the buyer immediately. As a seller it is you obligation to get the package delivered to the buyer and you (the seller) picked the carrier. If the package is insured, you need to file a claim with the USPS. Priority mail automatically receives $50 lost/damage coverage oe $100 if you are a TRS seller. On a lost package you should be reimbursed for the selling price of the item and the price you paid for the shipping label (not the price you buyer paid for shipping & handling).

Tracking that shows delivered to the correct address is a case in your favor.
