Will Post Office Accept This - Correct Postage Wrong Weight

ebay postage is so messed up right now. Last night I bought a label I thought was for today July 3rd. It printed it July 4th which shouldn't even happen since the post office is closed. I took a chance and scheduled a pick-up for today but they wouldn't take it after seeing the date on the label. I have no choice but to void the label, since they won't pick-up tomorrow.

So I decided to print a new label for Monday the 6th. I put in 4 oz First class and July 6th and screenshot it for myself to make sure I made no mistake in case I somehow messed up the label last night. Well, it printed the date right, but it printed the weight as 1 oz! The price is the same as 4 oz, but will the post office take it this way with the wrong weight even if I paid the correct amount of postage? If I void again there is no guarantee they will print it correctly since it already was put in the right way!

Thanks for your help in advance.

Whaaat? That one-day-in-advance print date is irrelevant. The money has been paid and the tracking number has been generated. All that remains is for the carrier to scan the label as Accepted. He is flat-out incorrect in refusing to accept it.

That's apparently water under the bridge now. I would just drop the package at the post office, assuming that it will fit in the lobby drop. If that's not possible, bring it in on Monday. There is no need to print another label to replace one that is dated from the weekend.

As for whichever label is not used, you can void that one and your account will be credited for the unused postage in about two weeks. As long as you have the correct postage paid for the actual package weight (which it sounds like you do), you're fine.

Re: Will Post Office Accept This - Correct Postage Wrong Weight

If I were you, I would just write the correct weight on the label being that the price is the same. I had the same glitch a few weeks ago and wrote the correct weight on the label. I didn't have an issue with dropping it off or having the package delivered. I wouldn't get in a habit of doing that, but a one off issue I made the decision to correct it. It may not be an issue because the postage amount is the same (same case for my scenario too), but I want to be accurate lol. Plus my post office usually checks the weight because I stand in line to have items scanned in. They speak up if there is an issue, but I can't say for sure if every post office would.
