When using UPS pack and ship do I need to buy a label from them or can I buy one from EBay?

I’m looking at using ups to pack and ship something I have that’s delicate and kinda pricey. 

I just want them to do it in case there is an issue with damage and hopefully insurance claims won’t be an issue. 
I know I’ll have to buy their supplies and it’s not going to be cheap.  

But can I at least buy a shipping label from eBay to save some money?

I really cant believe you have the guts to ask this

all the problems with UPS shipping label adjustments and stuff getting busted and sellers getting the shaft is not the time to be cheap

it appears that you want them to pack it and you just take it and leave

UPS stores are a shipping service...please pay for the shipping at the UPS store

If you are concerned with proper packing and possible insurance to cover, take it to UPS store, let them pack and pay the shipping there.

BE SURE to add the tracking number to the order when you get back home.

Theoretically, you could and use the QR label option. However, how will you know the dimensions and weight in which the UPS Store will use to pack it?

You need to research using a UPS store to pack and ship.  They are independent store owners not owned by UPS. There are many posts here about insufficient packaging from a UPS store causing claims to be  denied. The drivers don't know what's in the package and the UPS store is not going to package the item so it survives being thrown a flight of stairs.  And the extra cost they charge you to pack is inflated for the packing materials they use.

My advise is to learn how to pack fragile items.  For example I received a  cookie jar packed by UPS and there was no packing material in the hollow space. That is poor packing.  They didn't have enough packing to protect the lid when the box was turned upside down causing the pressure of the jar to break the lid. 

Bottom line is you will be responsible if the item is broken.

Forgot to add they charge you retail shipping costs at a UPS Store. And the cost of their boxes and bubble wrap  is expensive. You can buy boxes and bubble wrap cheaper than they'll charge you.

You would need to ask the UPS Store where you get the item packed. They are all franchises, they make their own rules and set their own fees.  They might expect you to purchase the label from them, or they might charge a bit more for the packing job if you don't.

I went to a store like that one time, when I was travelling, and I needed to get an oil painting packaged so that it could be safely taken onto an airplane as a carry-on, and put into the overhead bin. I explained why I only  needed the item packaged, and they were quite helpful. I was happy to pay them for a professional packaging job, and thankfully, the (brand new) owners still had a company mentor working with them, as they did not know to correctly package a painting.
