When and how to file claim against Guaranteed Delivery?

Noticed an item I bought has a GD of today and the mail has been delivered. Tracking info: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?tLabels=9400111899560129896178  The FAQs say if item isn't delivered by the day mentioned, Ebay will issue a voucher for a future Ebay purchase. I'm looking at my Purchase History under More Actions for this item. When I click, Report Late Delivery, it says There's still time before your item should be delivered. If you don't have your item by the guaranteed delivery date you can try again. Well, today is the guaranteed delivery date. Does that mean Ebay wants me to literally wait until 12:01am tomorrow before filing? And what is this "voucher" thing they mention?

it’s probably a $5 ebay coupon. And yes you have to wait to file the claim.

It's a $8.50 item so that's a good deal.

Yes because today isn't over yet.  Some forms of delivery happen later in the day into the early evening.  So Ebay will want you to wait until the final date passes.

It is a USPS issue  based on the tracking history..    Never thought the GD progam was a great Idea .

and remember,  eBay time 12:01AM may differ from buyer time

Then there is always the possibility that eBay will revise the GD date. There was a thread about that a while back.

Yeah gotta agree with that! I should also mention that I’ve only seen where eBay issued a $5.00 coupon, I don’t know if that’s just a flat amount for everyone or if the amount depends on the purchase price.

In the morning you will be able to file 
Just did one myself yesterday , it is super easy 
You will get this response & then when you go to make a purchase it will show at checkout with a check box for when you want to apply it.

I would love to know how many of these claims eBay pays out this year. Will be interesting if they continue this program. It doesn’t appear to be increasing sales. But then again I am sure they will sock a lot of sellers with higher FVFs now that returns count against them so....they might lose money on GD but make up for it with higher FVFs.

Nope! 8AM and still get the message, There's still time before your item should be delivered. If you don't have your item by the guaranteed delivery date you can try again. Estimate delivery on the tracking was July 23 and Guarantted Delivery date still July 25.

Called Ebay and the rep filed an INR for a refund. No mention of any voucher. Now I have to wait until August 1st to proceed. What's the point of this Guaranteed Delivery thing then?

Are you more concerned with getting the product or getting a $5 voucher?

I want the product but would have bought locally if it didn't have Guaranteed Delivery.
