What to do when you ship an item and the custom doesn't want to release it

At first the custom in Jakarta (according to my tracking info) was helding the package cause they were awaiting for payment. I contacted the buyer but he told me that he never received any info that he have to pay the customs. 

Now they are still holding the package but for a new reason "Dangerous goods".  I contacted my shipping company and they will try to see what is happening but the only thing in the package is a cardboard card. Si it's impossible that anybody can consider this dangerous.

Learn a lesson and stop shipping internationally.

If customs doesn't release the item you are going to have to give the buyer a full refund, lose your item and potentially get a negative feedback because they didn't recieve their item.

Maybe buyer can go to Jakarta customs with a carton of cigarettes or some other small gift and try to get it out of customs.

I am a seller since 2006 and I never had really problem before 2020. Only countries where I was used to lose packages were Italia, Spain and Brazil.

I sell international all the time and will only ship to the edelcon countries with USPS.....both Italy and Spain have been dropped from that program for now.the list has alwasy been a fluid list and it actually shows the years when a country has been in an out of the program.

I had many cusotmers in Brazil but do not ship there any more,I went thru my entire list and added Thailand,I ship there all the time now..I say no to India and Indonesia

You don't do anything. It is the buyers responsibility to pay taxes and fees.

Sounds like buyer is stalling long enough to file an INR.

Once they get their refund, they go to customs and pick up their package.

Dangerous Goods?  It's possible the image or words on it are offensive.  Indonesia has a Muslim majority.   I don' t know much about The Gathering or Magic Cards but the name conjures up less than fundamental values.

some things written are not allowed in to other countries.

I don't think that customs is holding it as it cleared customs on the 30th, it is probably Purolator that is holding it waiting for the payment that they already paid to customs.   I have no idea why it would say dangerous goods though.  I suspect that the buyer probably had no idea that they would be paying as much as they are billed for customs etc.

It most likely comes under the "items deemed to be immoral, unhealthy, or against public order; if it is being held by customs.

If they decided on such,  it is usually destroyed:
